Kris marshall seems to be the bookies choice although with the long association with chris chibnall on broadchurch i,m more inclined to think it still might be olivia coleman. If it is, i,d be quite happy with that.

Ots after the mens final so could it mean. A) its peter capaldi whos the final man to play the role and a womans takong over next or alternatibely B) its on a mens final because its a man

If the Doctor does change genders will the TARDIS have enough wardrobe room for all her clothes and shoes?
(This is an attempt at humour so please take it as such)

  • Pats86

    July 15th, 2017 - 8:49am

They could have let us see a glimpse of the next Doctor before 12 stopped the regeneration at the end of the final! It would have been a much better reveal and unexpected.
I hope it isn’t anyone who has been mentioned over the last few months/weeks/days I would rather it be someone completely unexpected like Daniel Day Lewis who hopefully has not retired from acting.
If it is one that is mentioned then I would go for Kristen Marshall, definitely not Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

      July 15th, 2017 - 8:50am

      Sorry Kris Marshall

  • The Outcast

    July 15th, 2017 - 3:31am

Its a real shame they couldn’t have announced him in the show, but its understandable I suppose. Still, pretty excited and the trailer looked fantastic.

Everyone to the bunkers! The whovian tantrums are bound to cause a little…seismic disturbances

    July 14th, 2017 - 11:18pm

I don’t want it to be Kris Marshall, his name has been thrown around so much it would just be a massive anticlimax, same for Andrew Buchan

At this point I would be shocked if it is anybody other than Kris Marshall

    • Doctor Stu

      July 15th, 2017 - 10:45am

Is there any suggestion that it could be Kris Marshall other than the fact that he left death in paradise at the same time Peter announced he was leaving. Is this just what people are basing it on or is there more.

    • Dalek Eye Stalk

      July 15th, 2017 - 4:46pm

Well, as far as I’m aware, Kris Marshall isn’t currently in any stage or tv production at present. So he is definitely available for the role. I’ll be surprised if isn’t him.

Dalek guns at FULL exterminate of Moffat/ Chibnail if there is a change in gender.

    • Bazz Who?

      July 15th, 2017 - 2:38am

Dalek guns at FULL exterminate if there isn’t a change of gender. They’ve been teasing this since the 80s and I cannot face another 4 years waiting for next chance. Its cruel that’s what it is!

    • Pats86

      July 15th, 2017 - 9:00am

It could end the show, cancelled again if she doesn’t work out.

    • The Outcast

      July 15th, 2017 - 9:13am

Dalek guns at full extermination for wanting to EXTERMINATE people.

    • The Moffatt Paradox

      July 15th, 2017 - 10:28am

LOL The Outcast. You would make a BAD Dalek.

    • Doctor Stu

      July 15th, 2017 - 10:47am

It could bring a surge of female viewers. I think people forget that women watch the show and often feel that all men will suddenly switch off because they’re outraged with a female Doctor whereas the majority just don’t have an issue

    • Adam

      July 15th, 2017 - 11:36am

It was never teased since the 80s…that was just an ‘off the cuff’ remark made by Tom when he left the role..I don’t want none of that ‘PC’ gender bending nonsense from Moffat’s world! I want a new TIMELORD not a TIMELADY! Don’t fix what’s not broken! Anyways my money’s on young Luke treadaway…

    • The Moffat Paradox

      July 15th, 2017 - 12:01pm

Know perfectly well there are plenty of female fans but Jon Pertwee did say it tends to be” more of a male sport”.

    • The Outcast

      July 15th, 2017 - 1:24pm

But even some of those Female fans don’t want a female Doctor. The gender of the viewer shouldn’t matter in Doctor Who. It is a show for everyone, atleast, it should be.

    • Pats86

      July 15th, 2017 - 3:58pm

      Spot on Adam, well said.

    • Doctor Stu

      July 15th, 2017 - 6:44pm

I hate that term PC, being PC is banning children off playgrounds in fear they’ll hurt themselves being PC is not ensuring women have decent representation that’s just common sense and the way it should be, there is nothing wrong with a woman playing The Doctor

    • pats86

      July 15th, 2017 - 7:23pm

How can it be comon sense when it could easily stop fans watching? You are right about females having decent representation, but not at the expense of ruining the longest science fiction show ever.
It does not have to happen, most will continue to watch if the Doctor stays male, many will stop if he changes gender! Including my wife who hates the very idea. And she is not alone.
If the Doctor ever finds his again would she still want to be married to him or her if he’s a she by then? Do his kids want two mum’s?
      Is his wife still female?
All this gender change throws up too many questions.
I’m all for equality but it doesn’t have to be in this great show, the BBC have enough programmes with such issues represented.

    • pats86

      July 15th, 2017 - 7:24pm

      Finds his wife I mean.

    • pats86

      July 15th, 2017 - 7:30pm

I must explain better, when I say I’m all for equality but not in this show I mean it from the Doctors perspective only.
I still want equally but with other cast members.
Sorry about that, it did look bad after I read it back.

    • The Moffat Paradox

      July 15th, 2017 - 8:05pm

If the line isn’t drawn here next it will be Jane Bond

    • Mick181

      July 15th, 2017 - 11:01pm

There are plenty of Actesses and ACTORS out there that would cause a crash in ratings of the show, just as there are ACTRESSES & Actors out there who could send the ratings up.
Getting the Doctor right is going to be difficult so why cut out 50% of the population?
The next Doctor could be a little green man from Mars for all i care, as long as they get good writers, good Stories and good diresction it can work.

What a fabulous trailer. If this is the way Doctor Who is going then I’m on board. The CG is great, the visuals are stunning. I really hope our new commander in chief actually wrote this trailer. If he did we’re in for a good time. I’m wondering if it will be a TV thing like Capaldi or just a trailer/clip like asBill…

    • The Outcast

Nah…he will be too similar to Matt Smith. I loved Matt Smith but after him and David Tennant I was ready for a Doctor who wasnt trying to be funny all the time. I hope its an unknown. Dont care about race, gender or age…just as long as they are thw best oerson for the role.

Whoever the actor or actress to play the 13th Doctor is…May I wish them all the best and success in the role…and may I also wish Roger Federer wins the Men’s Wimbledon Final in 3 straight sets on Sunday. πŸ™‚

    • Doctor Stu

      July 14th, 2017 - 7:51pm

It says BBC news after Wimbledon on Sunday on the TV Schedules so I’m assuming it’s a small ‘introducing ‘X’ as The Doctor’ scene like we got with Bill and then they’ll have a little segment at the end of the news where they perhaps have a little interview with the actor/actress

    • The Outcast

      July 15th, 2017 - 9:20am

Oh, that would be cool! That would sorta be announcing them in the show. If the next Doctor is contraversal (e.g Kris Marshal or a female), having a small clip might help some people accept them as the new Doctor.

    • Citsacras Dratsab

      July 15th, 2017 - 10:48am

How is Kris Marshall a controversial choice?? He’d make a great Doctor Who

  • Doctor Stu

    July 14th, 2017 - 7:22pm

I’d love that indent to play of Capaldi when he’s adjusting the TARDIS computer, it goes static and then suddenly up pops the new doctors face instead ‘oh…hello, does anybody know how to work this thing?’

  • Doctor Stu

    July 14th, 2017 - 7:20pm

I don’t think there’s a unit of measurement that exists to express how much I want it to be Ben Whishaw. As long as it’s a good actor I’ll be fine as long as it’s somebody current. I can’t really see Pauline Quirke or Dame Judy running about the TARDIS. and on another vote if it’s a woman Thandi Newton gets my vote please

Luke Treadaway, he was excellent in Fortitude another good choice.

    • Adam
