    guys I have a theory

I think that the DOCTOR WHO Q.L.A. Anti-Time Device will be in the time of the doctor as it was made by the clerics and they look to be in the 50th and the daleks cybermen and weeping angles are in it.

If Moffat does anything to make the daleks look weak or just ruins them I will stop watching the show! I really don’t like what he’s doing to the daleks and I think it’s time he let someone else write the dalek episodes! I know this isn’t a dalek episode but still he’s ruining the daleks

I think the Daleks are like a joke, the more it is told, the more it becomes stale. I do think there need to be chamges, I would lovw to see the Daleks act more militaristic like they did in the parting of ways.

      December 13th, 2013 - 9:22pm

They need to get rid of time war daleks once and for all, they should make a smaller more “elegant” version of the paradigm daleks I think silver and black would look good on them, the time war daleks have had there run and now their act is old news just give it up. I will stop watching if they don’t do anything about the daleks soon.

To be honest, I like how the Daleks have become more clever and cunning than they were before. It would be nice to see them act more aggressive and militaristic, though, and it looks like we’ll be seeing more of that. Even still, the Daleks are one aspect of the show, and it would still be silly to stop watching because of one thing you don’t like.

      December 14th, 2013 - 9:48am

but the dalek were my child hood monster I use to be scared of them! It would just ruin the show for me if they ruined the daleks, I know it sounds silly but things like that annoy me if one thing about a show annoys me I can’t watch it anymore but it’s more the fact I’m angry abd Moffat and don’t want to watch we he’s created anymore

I agree that the Daleks seem to have become rather feeble and a joke. All that needs to be done is some big gesture or movement to put the fear back in the word Dalek. The best Daleks were the ones in the Stolen Earth or Journeys end. They need to become like that again. The writers need to make them do cruel acts and become the merciless drones they were

      December 14th, 2013 - 7:27pm

I say let the time war dalek have their last episode and hand it over, a mixture between paradigm and time war daleks could be possible and easly written into doctor who, make them sharp and mean looking again, the time war daleks act is stale

    • darylcharles

      December 15th, 2013 - 3:57pm

To be honest I think the Daleks are not all about action and lately it’s been nice to see them develop ’emotions’ as such.

And a lot of people complain about the lack of the Paradigm Daleks but they are only there as a ‘higher’ class of Daleks. Take the eternal for expample – that ones still out there somewhere ready to continue the species in case a another Time War or something were to take place.

Also, the Daleks are one of the most defeated foes in the shows history so it’s about time they didn’t appear as often and in as big an episodes as they used to I you get my drift.

I reckon the Daleks will get their big chance in this episode.

      It’s going to be good!

    • Dalek the Supreme

      December 16th, 2013 - 12:46pm

I agree about them not appearing as often. Also, I don’t think putting a button in a prison cell not only holding Davros, but the Doctor too, is a good idea. A blend between their Moffat era cunning cleverness and their RTD era militaristic ruthlessness would do them good, and it looks to me like that’s what we’ll see here. The best thing to remember is to not judge what you haven’t seen yet.

I am saddened that the 11th doctor is going, now I know how he feels whenever his companions leave him. Though he is not really going, I just grew accustomed to his face being the doctor the same way I did with the 10th.

To be honest, I don’t think the monsters are against each other. A woman said “He has entered the trap!”

Well, if it is a trap for the Doctor, (Which it probably is), then the monsters will destroy themselves and it wont be much of a trap, hundreds of dead monsters.

Well, if they are against each other, then…..

      Cybermen attack Daleks.
      Nothing.
      Daleks attack cybermen.
      Daleks win.
      Cybermen Upgrade.
      Cybermen defeat all daleks.
      – Daleks defeated
      Silence destroy a few cybermen.
      Cybermen upgrade.
Weeping angels send remaining Cybermen back in time.
      – Cybermen defeated
Silence attempt to destroy weeping angels.
Weeping angels sent them back in time.
      – Silence defeated

      60 years later…
Silence return and destroy weeping angels.
      – Silence back
      – Weeping Angels defeated.

Well apparently they cybermen can’t upgrade to something that can kill them straight away like the daleks gun

    • Dalek the Supreme

      December 12th, 2013 - 2:38am

I think the Daleks would last longer than that, they did survive the Time War and two Civil Wars before that. I imagine the victors would go down between the Daleks and the Silence. The Weeping Angels are powerful and intelligent, but mostly just predators, and sending a Dalek or a Cyberman back in time wouldn’t do much good because they don’t age. The Cybermen are even more powerful than ever now, but they’re dominated by logic, and not as clever as the Daleks, who have outwitted the Doctor twice on their own since Victory of the Daleks. The Silence, despite their poor planning skills, are still cunning, and seem to be the big baddies of this episode, and thus might stand a chance against the Daleks.

More people wanting DW to go back to the bad old days….when it got axed.

That said, in the Tom Bakers days, it was all about story arcs…no one complained back then.

    • 100000BC

      December 11th, 2013 - 8:03pm

I don’t mind the story arcs themselves – but I think that nowadays they are controlling the stories too much.
DW didn’t get axed during the ENTIRE original 26 year run did it? It was nothing to do with nice, ordinary individual stories.

    • Dalek the Supreme

      December 12th, 2013 - 3:08am

I wouldn’t mind having more one-offs, but I’ve enjoyed most of the story arcs of the Moffat era so far (although the River Song and Doctor’s Assassination story arcs have been disappointing). I suppose it would be nice to have the 12th Doctor have a season of plain old adventures before going back to more story arcs. Then again, Moffat likes to come up with big, exciting story arcs that change Doctor Who forever, so he’ll probably continue with the big, epic story arcs for Capaldi’s run.

Rather then have Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor appear right at the very end, I wounder if the last 12 minutes could be spent involving the 12th Doctor ? so that we get to know him a little before we have to wait for series 8 to begin in August / September 2014.

Either the Daleks or the Silence. The Daleks are cunning and clever enough now to lure the Doctor into being a sacrifice for their cause now, but the Silence are supposed to be both clever and cunning (despite being poor planners in Series 6), so they might very well last a long time.

This year’s Christmas Special looks absolutely fantastic but incredibly emotional at the same time!

“The Doctor has fallen into the trap” – Clara gets attacked by the hands in the ground right after this is said. I hope she is okay!

“The Doctor is regenerating!” – Moffat did say that Smith will be regenerating at the end, but what if it is the last 10 minutes and not last few minutes? Wouldn’t the Daleks be “defeated” by the end?

I can’t wait. I will miss Smith so much that I wouldn’t be surprised if I was teary at the end, which usually isn’t like me!

PS: Who agrees with me that viewing on Doctor Who has gone down? It’s happened ever since Smith came (I don’t dislike him!!) but the series viewing has gone down and the merchandise has kind of gotten less figure wise. But I still love the show for sure! 😀 😀

I think it’s more down to changing trends in how people watch the show. More and more people watch on demand now than they ever did during the Tennant years. Those figures are never included but you could safely add at least another 2 million to the official figures…and don’t forget to add the sky plus figures too.

The show is far bigger globally than it was in the Tennant years….the 50th special sold out in cinemas in the states… That would never have happened 5 years ago. I think people read to much into the figures anyway.

As viewing trends change and more channels come on board, they will become less and less meaningful.

    • TheExtremeBlueTARDIS

      December 12th, 2013 - 7:14am

I know that! The 50th Anniversary sold a lot in cinemas and over 10 million watched it on TV, but I’m positive that the Tenth Doctor era was more popular. There was an online poll last month on your favourite Doctor: Smith camed 3rd, but Tennant came 1st!

Series 7 ratings became really bad, I’m sorry to say that, but it was true. We need something to boost the fans again: Full Series (like there is going to be), Capaldi has got to be amazing (no doubt he will!), two-part stories, appropriate timings and boost the merchandise!
