Just get rid of MS – I can’t watch it with him in it! Any other series is great though.

The viewing figures are basicly the same as someone on here posted that the viewing figures are better than series 1. and plus this new doctor and the production team are probably very used to doctor who by now so next series will be even better.
and because of the very low ratings of the lodger (overnight ratings) IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE FOOTBALL AND GD WEATHER!

Series 5 has been brilliant but only downfall what Barry Rix said that it has been pitched at younger viewers I hope they make the show more better.

As it was the joint eighth most show of the week, the BBC will be happy.

generally the ratings are similar to the previous four series so there is no decline rate of doctor who. the only thing that may be declining is the AI since this is the first year since the beginning of series 3 to have an AI just below excellent well that was expected since with the new production team, next year’s AI will be higher since the new production would be more used to doctor who at that time.

I have loved this series for 20 years, but I cannot get into this Doctor. He just doesn’t seem like he can save the world. And Amy, oh my gosh I keep rooting for the alien of the week to eat her. PLEASE powers that be, bring back the Doctor!

through out this series so far 72.98 viewers watch doctor who

All thing considered i see nothing wrong with the figures, what I do see is changing viewing habits where people no longer see the need to watch things there and then. the time shifts are huge and with BBCi player not included but achieving record downloads I don’t think the overall figures have changed that much.
I have spoken to those who don’t like the new series and others that prefer it, The Daleks are another matter however.

I’m sorry to disagree but look through all the ratings and you will see the series averages around 7.5 million. Series 5 has performed better than series 1 so far. But I agree with you about the god-awful Daleks.

The viewing figures clearly show that the series is no longer ‘as popular’. Series 5 does not have the same zing as 1-4, and it’s down to the new production team for whatever reason? My own feelings are that this series has been pitched at the younger viewer, plus too much change all at once, just look at what has been done to the Daleks.
The average for Series 5 will be 7M, I only hope that the powers to be at the BBC ask questions, and the bar is raised for the next series.
COME BACK RTD.

The only episodes pulling in 12 million viewers are the specials at key points of the year. Look at the some of the ratings for series four and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

It’s a shame Rory died in that episode, it seemed like such a happy family of the Doctor, Amy and Rory, the couple and the driver, and now that has been wrecked by that Silurian and that crack in the wall! I now hate that Silurian (Don’t take it personally Silurians)! At least he’ll be back for the finale!
Poor Doctor because he’s lots his pal!
Poor Amy, because she can’t even remember her fianceè.
And Poor Rory!

i think mat smith is amzing and if my sister herd that she would have killed me but i think the show was more than that rating i would have gave it 10 and i would give matt smith 10.

The show seems to be quickly losing casual viewers
The Eleventh Hour got almost 10 million viewers and was the 4th most watched show on television that week

Cold Blood was a good episode last night I know the ratings was not that big still at least it was still good to watch.

shame as it was a good story, still worth waiting for the full ratings as i think peoples viewing habits are changing as they know they can watch it anytime now

The new series is brilliant.
So.What.The.Hell.
Stupid apes. Don’t know what’s good for them.

better than “the hungry earth” ratings, but “cold blood” ratings were better but still not brilliant!

You’ve gotta be joking. I mean sure I loved the Tom Baker era but the vast majority of the David Tennant years were entirely un-watchable. Just think of Chibnalls contribution under RTD, 42! Eurgh. This series has been a major improvement.

Just watched an old Tom Baker episode, which blew this series out of the water but was no better than the best of the 10th Doctor. Just listened to an old Moffat interview where he was asked whether there was any way forward from the 12 million viewers that the 10th doctor pulled in and he said maybe 12 and a half. Not. My sister-in-law says that the 5th series is like an American remake of Doctor Who. I think she’s nailed it. It’s okay, just, but doesn’t quite catch the old spirit. Not must-see TV.

Mmmmmm, that share is a bit low, i expected higher to be honest but the BEEB keep messing with the time. have to wait till the final figures.
