This years Doctor Who Prom events have taken place over the weekend Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July.

The events were in the main part hosted by Karen Gillan (Amy ) with Arthur Darvill (Rory) introducing part of the schedule in the second half.

Matt Smith appeared as The Doctor in a special scene acted out in front of the huge crowds which involved the help of a young boy from the audience. Matt Smith joked how he would be able to tell all his friend at school that he had acted with The Doctor – but them reminded him it was half term.

Various monsters interacted with the audience including the Judoon, Vampires and Silurians. The Victoy Dalek and Angel arrived through the arena floor and Cybermen and The Supreme Dalek appeared on the main stage.

Karen Gillan, Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill were all on stage at the End where the concert as a whole received a well deserved standing ovation.

After the event on Sunday crowds gathered at the stage door where several of the participants were more than happy to sign the special programmes which feature a new Dalek on the front in their various covers , these were £3 each with many people buying all 5.

The Saturday programme was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, but the event was recorded for BBC Television to be shown at a later date.

I watched the “Proms” programme on TV tonight…(Boxing Day in Australia) Loved it….Also watched the “Christmas Carol” special episode tonight as well…
“Tom Cruise” Posted July 28th commented that Matt Smith didn’t come to the stage door to see and meet his fans….My 9 year old grand daughter (who is a mega fan of the show) wrote to Matt Smith 6 to 8 months ago and is still waiting for a reply and is very disappointed to have never received a much anticipated letter…While I understand that he cannot personally can’t reply to all his fan mail, I’d have thought his publicity ‘spin doctors’ would have some sort of system in place where they could reply to these letters that must come to him from all over the world…
