Just to flush this out *sighs*
    Daleks don’t always shout EXTERMINATE!!!

all the time in battle they didn’t much in power of the Daleks or their first appearance…

Thank you. I hate that the daleks only say ‘Exterminate’ for catchphrase sake, it seems now.

If I’m being honest although I like the look of the series as a whole from this trailer, the landscape shots in this trailer of the alien planets and that futuristic city look a little underwhelming, compare those shots to the shots of the Dalek city and the capitol on Gallifrey last series and these look a little less impressive scale wise.

I think Nardole has potential. He’s likeable but I think his character should be written carefully so his silly side doesn’t get out of hand. My favourite Nardole scene is that small speech of sorts at the end of The Return of Doctor Mysterio – it shows more depth to Nardole than I think had previously been shown. If done well, the Doctor, Bill and Nardole could be a great combination. If done badly, Nardole may be nothing more than a comic relief character. I look forward to finding out. 🙂

At first, i thought he was a bit annoying;), but i openly admit he is a very good addition to the show. Matt Lucas plays the part well.

It’s too early to say but I already love Bill! She seems to be like Martha, one of my favourite companions, but sillier and funnier! I just hope she’s not like Amy Pond, that I can’t stand with all her over acting and “shut ups”. Can’t wait to watch the 10th series!

Why would you want to end the daleks? Their a great part of doctor who and are favourites to a lot of fans including me. I don’t think doctor who would be the same without the daleks. They’ve been there from the start.

    • The Outcast

      January 7th, 2017 - 5:27am

Its not that they hate the Daleks, its the fact that they appear in the series every year with out fail. Its gotten to the point where Daleks are defeated by poop (It was pretty much poop), they need a good long rest, so that they can come back better than ever.

    • prototype dalek

      January 27th, 2017 - 12:33pm

They didn’t in series 6 with only a very brief appearance in the final episode and the same with the 2009 specials in The Waters of Mars with a few seconds of a Dalek (if they count)

    • The Outcast

      January 27th, 2017 - 1:29pm

The Daleks still appeared in a new scene, so that’s an appearance in my book.

    • Brad

      January 28th, 2017 - 11:13pm

Yes! Totally agree about Bill. Almost immediately after she began speaking in the trailer, I wanted to punch something. She may turn out to be quite an excellent companion, but she does need to be quiet and keep that voice in check until I have a chance to get to know her and even be able to tell whether or not I like her. But if the dialogue keeps where it’s at, I’m afraid I may have to watch on mute and read my closed captions and that’s ashame because one of the things that have made me come to like Peter Capaldi even more as The Doctor on top of his excellently beautiful quirkiness, and his totally natural way of bringing his guitar into any given scene (the first guitar playing Doctor has made him very, very close to being my favorite of all the doctors by the way), is his accent.

Good idea. I’d love to see an actual sinister evil plot with them, and not just a clichéd version like in Cold War. Also, go back to the original design with the sound gun thing! That would be great.

Plus, Nardole is wearing the same costume as he was in the trailer when he saw a Dalek.

      December 28th, 2016 - 4:36am

So I presume that the first episode is going to be a part Dalek story or the water creatures are caused by the Daleks somehow.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Suchet was the Monk.

The Monk was brought back into the collective Who consciousness in the recently published 12 Doctors of Christmas hardback (It’s excellent by the way). I realise it’s a tenuous link but you never know.

I miss the paradigm daleks, they were so innovative and showed so much promise, people are just bad mannered.

    • The Moffat Paradox

      February 4th, 2017 - 3:16am

Some important plot holes to fill in from the classic to the modern series would be in order if it is the Movellans.

They had solved the logical impasse with their fleet’s battle computers against the Daleks own fleet’s battle computers by developing a biological virus that all but wiped out the Daleks. The Daleks either forced Davros when captured from Necros to develop an antitode or they developed a natural resistance which in a novelisation of Remembrance Of The Daleks is a backdrop for the Renegade/Imperial Daleks civil war because it had caused the latter to mutate. Then Skaro was destroyed by the seventh doctor using the Hand Of Omega and through time manipulation in the modern series the Daleks seem to have brought it back. The Daleks seemingly resolved their internal feud with Davros still onside and evolved into the Time War Daleks.

So where’s the Movellans in all of this?Wouldn’t they sill be waiting in the wings to at least pick off the comparatively weakened victor in the Dalek civil war even if their virus no longer worked unless short of extinction they had their own large reversal of fortune somehow?

(Maybe the Daleks could have answered a biological virus with a computer virus as the Movellans weakness is being totally robotic and software run?)

The Daleks prior to the conclusion originally of the last great Time War seemed to have had something of a renaissance as they seem to have became so powerful no one can challenge them but the Time Lords who they consider to be their greatest enemy anyway. A war in which much of the rest of the Galaxy has also suffered.

Have the Movellans been lying low while trying to resurrect themselves with the Daleks now aiming to put paid to that?
