Hasn’t felt like Doctor who since around 2011 but I’ll still watch

Feels like it should be on a children’s channel. I am fearful. I think I will be scared watching the first episode just in case i hate it. The trailers so far do not in any way make me feel great some fresh episodes to enjoy. I agree with Anonymous. I want clever thought provoking storylines and I don’t think that is on the table. A Doctor Who trailer with pop music ugh! So hope i am wrong. Husband says he is not watching so that’s one you have lost Chibnall. If it’s as lightweight as it seems many hard-core long standing fans will disappear. If I am right can we please have a resurgence of Torchwood and leave this to the kiddies. Probably over reacting but I love this programme and I don’t recognise what I am seeing.

Not really keen on first glance, don’t feel the excitement like past series. Glad they didn’t show the whole series in the trailer like they have done before though. Music not really my choice but won’t judge it on that.

Overall in my own person opinion, I am worried about it and not looking forward to it like the past. But I will give it a chance and see what happens. Again my own opinion and thoughts.

Being honest, I’m more concerned for this series. I’m not excited for it like I’ve been with past series. I understand they’ve wanted to give it a fresh take, but it just doesn’t feel like Doctor Who. Jodie will last either 2 or 4 years in my opinion, depending on how well people take to like this series. I think BBC have gone way OTT with political correctness on this and it’s wrong. Everyone is afraid to admit it because they fear people will disagree with them.

Look at Twice Upon a Time. That had a lot of adult jokes in it that were genuinely funny and clever, but there was still complaints. This series will not have any of that which is sad because it’s doing what everyone else wants (to be politically correct) and not actually listening to it’s actual fans. A change is good once in a while, but, in my opinion, it’s gone too far. This series doesn’t feel and look like Doctor Who, and I can already tell that from the trailers and promo images

Considering how little we’ve been told I find it difficult to say I’m excited for this series. But I’m certainly intrigued. It appears to have a totally new tone, much fresher, and if the show focuses less on the characters and more on the stories then it’ll be a success whoever is in charge.

    @Doctor Stu
That might be partly why Chibbers said we won’t see the titles until episode 2.

One downside… the background song, but let’s not nit pick.

Well it certainly looks impressive, visually excellent.
If the writing has improved (won’t take much) I believe I could be convinced the Doctor is still the Doctor (not a gender change fan) that’s all I want, seeing Jodie a little more on this trailer has certainly made me feel better about the future of this great show.
Feel much more confident, hope I’m right in thinking this?

Ooh, great trailer, love the fact that not much is given away. Too much info is given nowadays, most film trailers now mean you don’t need to see the movie! And so many whomfans want to know everything, monsters, settings, plots, me, I want to no nothing! Don’t mind the music and the doctor blowing the kiss is my favourite moment too. She just looks so cool doing it. Looks like she’s doing a mike drop moment. Bring it on…

I know this is a weird aspect to focus on but one thing I already really like about this new season is the change in lighting and colour saturation. For example, the landscapes look significantly brighter and more alive.

Wow, really looks amazing. I am 50/50 on the music choice. The lyrics do fit the Doctor, but I must say that I agree that it should really be a bit more, orchestral…. I don’t even think that’s a word but there we go. I am definitely not looking forward to the gigantic spider that is chasing Graham and Ryan though! And as of when I post this, I have watched it over 50 times. And for me, I feel like I’m seeing bits that I didn’t see before.

Love the Trailer but like most the music doesn’t do it for me (apart from the first bit)

Not giving anything away though are they, no real glimpse of monsters

That might not be a bad thing though Booboo. It’s weird but I am quite looking forward to being surprised by what happens! I just can’t wait!!!

I’m really intrigued as to how this is going to play out with all the mystery surrounding the new series. Most newcomers are only dipping in for the fact that the Doctor is now a woman so the first episode has to essentially be brilliant to retain a new larger audience, it’s going to look embarrassing for the bbc if the viewing figures plummet from the first episode to the second

In terms of scale very cinematic. the promo music doesn,t work though, they needed something majestic to match the visuals, something in the line of John williams to build the hype. The acting seems variable so will reserve judgement till i see it in full.
If that was a brief glimpse of a spider, I won,t read much into that as we,ve had spiders before in Kill the moon.

I’ll certainly give Chibnall and writers potentially10//10 if were going to get a story that scares the bejesus out off us arachnophobes.YIKES!!!

(Don’t think it’s anything tp do with the sentient powered ones from Metebelis Three I hasten to add.)

The visuals are stunning. This is going to be a great series. But I agree with most, the music doesn’t really fit. I love everything else though!

Get rid of the awful music! It’s completely at odds with the visuals. Great visuals with a tacky song. Completely giving me mixed signals about the upcoming series. The music in the trailer needs to be darker, slower and more mysterious… not glorious!

Wow! I love how positive and upbeat the show is looking- it really feels like there’s a kind of fresh energy to it!
Weird not seeing the Tardis (interior or exterior) or any recognisable monsters, but it’s good to have some surprises to look forward to. Especially after the series 10 trailer which gave away so much that it kind of had a negative effect on my enjoyment of that series (especially the finale)!

Love this! It looks great, though the music is… the same music as before. I guess they finished editing the trailer after the “Release Date Trailer” was released, so they couldn’t change it…?

Love the music, but the acting isn’t really doing anything for me from any of them. Also Giant spiders are already triggering me, at least I know there’s at least one thing that’s going to have me hiding behind the sofa
