Doctor Who The Snowmen Movie Poster
The BBC have released a “movie poster” featuring Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman for this years Christmas special The Snowmen.
Christmas Eve 1892 and the falling snow is the stuff of fairy-tales. When the fairy-tale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess, Clara, calls on the Doctor for help.
But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind or will he fight to save the world – and Christmas – from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace.
The Snowmen stars Matt Smith as the Doctor, Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara, Richard E Grant as Dr Simeon, Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny and Dan Starkey as Strax.

Nice
but what is that huge metal stairway, in Victorian London?
Posted by: doctorwhoone November 29th, 2012
Yeah, Clara is from Victorian times. The ladder is leading up to the Tardis with the Police Box doors closed.

hem hem the Victorians were famous for their ironwork so not unsurprising to see a big metal ladder they were pretty common additions to any tall building to let the working classes get up there to keep the roofs and fancy brickwork up to scratch [they were mental builders take a look at this yrs grand designs series 5 ep 9]

I just remembered the whole movie poster thing. I know that the whole blockbuster theme posters and all that will be the same for the other episodes but because it seems so far away, it feels like that was only for the Ponds. I can’t imagine what they’ll be like for the other ones, i really can’t wait any longer

I love the whole Doctor living on a cloud thing; it just makes it really chirstmasie as well as the snowmen and the fact that its snowing, As soon as a saw that the ladder was quite modern i kind of got put off the whole ladder thing and also how it seems to be in the middle of some town in London where everyone can see it but does nothing about it. Though knowing Steven Moffat, he’ll have and excellent explamation for that. Can’t wait!

I wonder why there is a huge ladder to the TARDIS

This series will be remembered as one of the best looking, “shiniest” ones since the reboot. The movie theme really works, and the writing has been brilliant. This is what Steven should have started with.

Can’t wait! I want to see the Cybermen poster.

That won’t be till next year. Hope it won’t be too long till Doctor Who Magazine and other magazines start showing promotional images of the upcoming new 2013 Cybermen.
I’m still not keen on their design, apart from the head which is ok, it’s just the body design I’m not so sure about at the moment.
