I have always enjoyed the Ice Warriors and its great news they are back for season 10.

Why do they do this so much lately? They announce what characters, actors, settings, and monsters we’ll see in upcoming episodes?

It would be much better if they saved things like that for the trailers, or not have any foreknowledge of it before the episode.

they sometimes do this if there is filming that is likely to be seen so it gets out anyway

    • The Living Shadow

      February 20th, 2017 - 11:16pm

I find that so annoying. Even if it’s spotted in filming, there are still people like me who don’t like or subscribe to any pages which share filming news. If they hadn’t announced this, or Missy’s return, I’m almost sure I wouldn’t know about it.

      February 22nd, 2017 - 7:21am

To be honest, I think we all knew deep down that Missy was going to return. She does every series since her introduction.
That being said, the Ice warriors was a bit of a surprise. Suppose they got to get their money’s worth. 😛

Brilliant news love the ice warriors nice if it was a two Parter!

Just a thought – a female ice Warrior?

The BBC ONE snapchat did a little reveal of them earlier. Got a screenshot of it’s face. I won’t say what it looked like here though. Very much the same design, just intrigued by something else with it!

They’re one of my favourites. I enjoyed Cold War but I’d love to see loads of them

Love the Ice Warriors! There’s a picture on Twitter of an Ice Warrior with what appears to be a cracked mouth, could this possibly be a flood infected ice warrior?

I’ve just tried but I think it’s blocking me, don’t know if booboo will be able to put the image on this page?

That definitely looks like a flood infected ice warrior. I just hope we get some normal ice warriors as well.

It just look like batlle damge to me since he is missing an eye. He could be flood infected as well though

  • C’rizz the Cheshire Cat

I hope this new kind of Ice Warrior isn’t just going to be an Ice Lord that they’re introducing to the new fans

I,d love to see a war story between the different castes.

    LOVE the Ice Warriors!!

  • The Outcast

    February 1st, 2017 - 12:04am

Well, there where rumours of a Peladon story, could this be it? I assume that this ‘NEW’ type of Ice warrior is just the Nu-new revival of the Ice-lords. At the very least, this could mean that CO release a new updated monster set.

Something to that effect I presume given what the original stories were about.

Ice Warriors are such a great concept there is so much potential for what could happen

  • The Moffat Paradox

Good but by a strange quirk this will be the second time they’ve appeared in a series in the modern era for it also be the current custodian of the Tardis’s last one.

Lets hope their is more than one this time.

It’s perfect timing. The Ice Warriors celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

Mark Gatiss is (I believe) Episode 10.

  • JasonisnotaRobot

    January 31st, 2017 - 6:14pm

Glad some good news came out of today, it’s like someone at the BBC said “Oh no everyone’s sad Capaldi’s leaving, give them something before they attack HQ”

  • D0CT0R WH0

    January 31st, 2017 - 5:57pm

I think they’ll be in episode three. That would be cool because then they would have something to do with this rumoured monster to be in the iced up Thames.

    • Doctor Who Archive

      January 31st, 2017 - 6:26pm

Episode 3 is Sarah Dollard. Mark Gatiss writes episode 10.

  • Omega63

    January 31st, 2017 - 5:48pm

Personally, it’s exciting to see this announcement be made, I truly hope it’s a good Ice Warrior story, and I hope they don’t show their ‘under the armour’ version again, because ‘Cold War’ was respectable, but that part was awful.

And judging by his ‘new kind’ comment, well that could go one way or another. Gatiss, don’t write another horrible one!

I mean, he hissed – maybe they’re going for a proper Ice Warrior voice instead of the one from 2013? Who knows, probably thinking to deeply.

Daleks, Cybermen, Missy & now Ice Warriors Zygons & Time Lords like we had in Series 9? Any other classic monsters?

  • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

    January 31st, 2017 - 5:35pm

This is great news, I really enjoyed Cold War and look forward to seeing him developing the Ice Warriors futher. All we need to happen now is for the Mondasian Cybermen from The Tenth Planet to return and then we’ll be all set for what should hopefully be a cracking series. Maybe Character will make a 5″ Ice Warrior figure now.

    • Omega63

      January 31st, 2017 - 5:49pm

Would be logical for a figure to be released now, as they can sell it as a Series 10 figure instead of Series 7 therefore could attract more impulse buys from the casual market.
