December 3rd, 2018 - 5:13pmYet again another poor episode in what in an awful season. This show seriously needs a rest and great big reset button…and the quicker the better! The last time i witnessed a talking frog on a sunday evening was kermit on The Muppet show, only difference being that it was more entertaining than this…Ribbit.

December 3rd, 2018 - 3:44pmI’ve felt like a kid in a class at school, with a teacher who likes the sound of his own voice, just waiting for the bell, throughout this series.
But finally 9 episodes in, Ed Hime’s delivers a script that actually involves all the ‘friends’, (sorry, I just hate that term, it’s as if we’re dismissing all the Doctors previous companions as nothing more than side kicks, which couldn’t be further from the truth, as there has been a far stronger connection between them in all the previous series, and in this one it’s been noticeable by it’s absence), and a really interesting story. There was some great CGI with the moths and the mirror and some genuine emotion. Ryan, for me, is still very weak, with a one tone voice and I held my breath where there was a moment when I thought he was going to launch into ‘my dad left me story’ but heaved a sigh of relief when it never transpired. I still don’t really care about any of the ‘gang’ mainly because they’ve been used as set dressing, with other writers not really knowing what to with them all, and the Doctor still comes over to me as an annoying big sister. I think the frog may have been a step too far, considering how interesting the rest of the story had been and I think it would have been a great opportunity for the Solitract to have been in the form of someone the Doctor had loved, even if we never saw the face, and I’m sure many others thought the same. It’s just a shame it didn’t occur to the writer Also get rid of Ryan and Graham and replace them with Grace, she’s far more convincing than the two of them put together.
