Is it just me , or has anyone else noticed the lack of advertising to promote series 10 week by week. ? I have seen very little of the teasers in between the normal programs on the BBC channels.

I’ve seen all the adverts you talking about on YouTube.

I think we should expect low viewing figures for this one. It’s on at the same time as the final for Britain’s Got Talent. :/

Lowest overnight ratings of the series I reckon, maybe even since it’s return in 2005. I’m going for 2.9 million viewers for ‘The Lie of the Land’.

Hopefully ratings will increase with the relaunch next year.

      Yes, hopefully.
My guess is a slightly more optimistic 3.5 million overnight, simply because the next time trailer has quite a lot of views on YouTube. Let’s see who turns out to be closest. 🙂

You win, Tim M. It got 3.01 million overnight, which I do believe is the lowest since the revival.

From rumours i have read this evening, the Monks have always been there, having defended us from Sontarans, Weeping Angels, Cybermen and the Daleks.

But like i say, its rumors i have read.

I read that too, in one of the previews

It would be awesome if that’s true and is mentioned in the episode, even more so if it shows us the monks facing off the daleks etc. 🙂

I’m certain this is going to be an alternative timeline. Similar to ‘Turn Left’ and ‘The Last of the Time Lords’. If it is, they might as well make this 3 parter all a dream.

The Lie of the Land trailer reminds me strongly of the Season 3 episode ‘Last of the Time Lords’.

Everyone is wearing plain grey clothing like the Master forced the people to do, everyone has been forced into suppression by aliens, and most of all, the John Simm Master who was in ‘Last of the Time Lords’ is back for Season 10!

It seems certain parallels can be drawn, yes. Others have noticed that too. Especially seeing as it may turn out that the events in the episode never happened (similar to the year that never was). Maybe Toby Whithouse took some inspiration from that episode. Though since this is an episode that aired nearly 10 years ago (oh, how time passes) I’m willing to look past any plot similarities.

Have i missed a different trailer to the one at the end of the episode? The regeneration isnt in the trailer, jusf clips of Bill looking different, Nardole, the Doctor sayin hes joined the monk things and Missy looking like she has been dragged through a hedge backwards…. but no orangy yellow regeneration effects

There is a scene in a pre-season teaser of the Doctor seemingly regenerating. Looking at this ‘Next Time’ trailer, it looks like the Doctor is in the same room as he was in the pre-season teaser.

Oh right, but c’mon, its Moffat, its probably wrong

Oh yes, I’m willing to bet all my money that it’ll be a false regeneration

Would be interesting concept, if the Doctor has made a miss step. So he gets shot and his regeneration inadvertently creates a bad Doctor…the Valeyard!

But, knowing Moffat…it will all end in a convenient reset button. An alternative time line or something. As we know Capaldi features throughout this series. So it clearly won’t be a ‘proper’ regeneration. Which made me think that perhaps the Valeyard could be created by this alternate timeline. If indeed it is an alternate timeline?

I’m in agreement with you on this one. Leaving in the Doctor in a dead end timeline, what’s he to do?

I think the Doctor has made a bit of a wardrobe error- He’s wearing the same coat that he wore when he last saw Missy, so she’ll think he hasn’t changed his coat in over 200 years, and that isn’t a good impression to leave!!! Silly Doctor!

But he popped in to the vault to have a chat at the end of ‘Knock Knock’, so she knows he’s wore others in the meantime.

Really looking forward to the return of Missy, the Doctor’s “regeneration” and seeing what can possibly be done to stop the monks!

Missy might regenerate into the master in this one.

    • The Outcast

      May 28th, 2017 - 10:57am

Which is impossible, as Jacobi comes before Simm…

    • Crackpot of tea

      May 28th, 2017 - 8:33pm

We’ll she could be before Jacobi, my theory was she would regenerate into sir Derek and it would be the 12th doctor who leaves him alone with the fob watch

      Nice one!

    • The Outcast

      May 29th, 2017 - 9:05am

But Derek Jacobi aren’t in this series. I think the most likely situation for the Finale is a Multi-Master story where Saxon Master and Missy meet and the ending results in Simm regenerating into Missy to prove she is the Master and not a fake and also fill the gap to make fans (some of them atleast) happy.
