I don’t know why the BBC aren’t releasing this on DVD or blu ray. They aren’t putting it on the pre order S7 pt 2 dvd blu ray either. They always release the Xamas special on the next box set out. I can’t find out why they are leaving this and not releasing this.

Steven Moffet is killing this show. Why another change in titles after one season anyway? His plots have more continuity holes then ever before and one has problems keeping up with whats going on. Matt Smith plays a good Doctor but he is let down in the same way Sylvester McCoy was that led to the show being cancelled in 1989. They need to bring Russel T Davies back to save this show again or it will end up the same way as the classic series did in 1989. It is just not Doctor Who anymore and has crossed from Sci-Fi to confusing fantasy and to me is more like ‘The Twilight Zone’ with a TARDIS. But! at least with ‘The Twilight Zone you always knew where you were. Its a shame Steven Moffet is killing (has killed) a wonderful show. He has written some good episodes but as a head writer is just not keeping the plots. I’m stopping at ‘David Tennant’ era.

Incase you haven’t noticed, there are no toys anymore.

The real reason is the previous Tardis console was too big to get removed from the old filming studio, so a new, more machine-like,creepy, less cosey one was made instead.

@the_doctor is right, at least according to the Christmas issue of DWM. And I’m glad, too. In the words of my worst favorite doctor (6): change my dear, and it seems not a moment too soon.

The episode itself was amazing and magical, so it’s fitting that new title sequence is aswell.

Beautiful and creepier, more dynamic. I’ve been waiting since 2009 for a new title sequence like that.

It was incredibly detailed, much cooler and much creepier, and I loved that THEY FINALLY PUT THE DOCTOR’S FACE IN IT 🙂

The hidden stair case was the best . I always thought the phone box jus sitting on the the street where they didnt exist was a flaw in the storyline .

I think the phone box on the street was a good thing, and it wasn’t flawed, the Chameleon Circuit blends it in, watch Boom Town.

While you do have your own opinion about the episode, I think it’s partly flawed. For me it’s around 7.5-8.2/10 because the pacing is not brilliant the monsters and Dr Simeon are underused but the characters are well written and the actors are good to.

    first things first i guess…
The new title sequence will grow on me but having looked at it twice so far (will again later!), it is growing on me. i don’t know about anyone else but i see elements heralding back to the classic years like the way the vortex is now & a brief glimpse of the doctors face (thank god he’s not winking!).

As for the console room! BEST DESIGN EVER! my jaw nearly hit the floor when you see the room power up, again i see elements of the classic series console room in this new one.
as for the episode i think it was well done and is already producing some interesting glimpses of things to come and questions that need answering like who is clara really? 😀

Doctor Who was fifth on the viewing figures table for BBC 1, but thats not the final figures so i feel quite confident that it moves up a bit. I loved the episode, it was absolutely amazing. I actually quite like the Tardis now, i really like the design but i don’t like how they made it smaller. I hated the new title sequence; the way it started off was like splashes of paint being thrown at the screen. The actual vortex bit i didn’t mind but i don’t like how it only went forward and the colors weren’t really chritsmas and you could see glimpses of the doctors face it just looked really cheap. I could get over the theme tune but i didn’t really like that either. I looked like something that a fan made with the cheap equipment they had. The whole title sequnce just looked really cheap. Everything else about the episode was fantastic.

Pretty good, but it would’ve been even better if the show had been in a later timeslot (which would’ve also saved me a lot of hassle!)
