The Tardis to Tour Towns Across Wales

Doctor Who’s TARDIS set to tour towns across Wales

For one week only, Doctor Who fans all over Wales will get a unique opportunity to see the iconic time travelling phone-booth up close. Magically appearing overnight at secret locations in eight towns and cities across Wales, the exact spots will be revealed on the morning of the visits on Twitter.
English language version

The tour is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the hugely popular series, made in Wales by BBC Cymru Wales, and culminates in Cardiff on the day the special episode will be broadcast.

Saturday 16 November – Holyhead
Sunday 17 November – Llandudno
Monday 18 November – Wrexham
Tuesday 19 November – Aberystwyth
Wednesday 20 November – St Davids
Thursday 21 November – Swansea
Friday 22 November – Newport
Saturday 23 November – Cardiff

Brian Minchin, the series’ Executive Producer, said: “Doctor Who fans across Wales will get a unique opportunity to get up close to the Doctor’s time machine and be part of our anniversary celebrations. Look out for it in a town near you.”

The anniversary episode, called The Day Of The Doctor, starring the current Doctor, Matt Smith, as well as the previous Doctor, David Tennant, will be shown on BBC One Wales on 23 November.

I’m actually flying back to England (from the US, where I now live) for one week next week, and my parents live in Weston-Super-Mare. I think I’ve timed my trip rather well! 😀

Ironically, although I’m in Cardiff every Saturday, I’ll be in at the Excel in London on the 23rd lol 😀

I’m sure a replica of the modern Tardis prop will be there. Probably standing right outside the Excel Centre 😉

Yeah, but imagine walking around the corner and it being there when you’re not expecting it! That’s the appeal of this, to me anyway!

If I just saw it, I’d run back to my house and hide until it was gone; who knows what alien invasion The Doctor is fighting this time?! 😉
