Thirteenth Doctor Arrives in Sheffield Red Carpet Pictures

The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker ) Arrives in Sheffield for the press screening of the first episode of Doctor Who Series 11, The Woman Who Fell To Earth.

Pictures from the red carpet event should be released later today.

We don’t get aliens in Sheffield. In a South Yorkshire city, Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan and Graham O’Brien are about to have their lives changed forever, as a mysterious woman, unable to remember her own name, falls from the night sky.

Can they believe a word she says? And can she help solve the strange events taking place across the city?

Guest starring Sharon D Clarke, Johnny Dixon and Samuel Oatley. Written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Jamie Childs.

We know what day Doctor Who’s going out on (Sundays), but surely by now we should have a timeslot! I’m hoping it’s on at 8.00pm. As I work every other Sunday until 7.00pm. I know I can catch up with I-player, but I like making an exception for Doctor Who.

7.00pm has been mention because of something BBC America put out but obviously not confirmed yet, if they want the family audience i would say 8.00 pm is to late

Wouldn’t that clash with the Strictly results show though?

at the moment yes, 8.00pm would be the most logical slot but that’s quite late if they want to cater for the very young ones

As Strictly performs well in the ratings anyway (which I still struggle to fathom?), I think it would make more sense to follow it with Doctor Who. Trying to carry over those viewers into the next show.

The TARDIS exterior looks so awkward I can’t put my finger on it. The 2005-2017 TARDIS exterior just seemed to fit in everywhere, it looked homely, it sat well and looked nice in every picture it was in. This one just seems to be a massive block sort of plonked on the red carpet and it looks far too wide

For me personally, I think Chris Chi bnall and Segun Akinola both look uncomfortable and awkward, kind of as though they really don’t want to be there. I agree that the TARDIS does look slightly too wide. Can’t really say its the photographer, as its a professional one.

I actually prefer this one to the previous two. Seems more classic-y. The lamp isn’t too good, but it’s still looks better than the previous NuWho boxes. Same can’t be said for the new interior though.

What annoying me is that they are having their individual photos taken at the side of the Tardis and not in front. Silly i know but I’m funny about stuff like that. Also the lamp seems wonky.

However those in Twitter who were lucky enough to see the episode seem to be very happy with the episode so now I’m even more excited!

Personally, I think it’s a bit unfair that a select few have the chance to watch the debut episode before anyone else. So much for Chi bnall saying he wants everyone to watch it in a communal way.

I understand the premise that people had to get tickets etc. but still, everyone else has to wait just under 2 weeks. That’s not me being jealous, I just genuinely believe that Chibnall has kind of sold out a bit, in a way.

On another note, it’s really good to see loads of Whovians, hopefully old and new, in force to meet the new Doctor and her new companions (sorry, but I can’t get used to “friends”at the moment).

its a press screening which is an essential part of the promotion, not holding one could have a far more negative effect

The ticket winners were for the red carpet only and weren’t allowed to see the actual episode.

Ah, well I admit when I am wrong. I also went on by what a couple of youtubers had mentioned as well.

But as I say, I’m wrong and I admit it. I will pay more close attention next time and not jump to conclusions.

I do know ace creeper got to see the episode, I’m not sure if he is considered press but that is the only thing I can come up with.

Yeah, YouTubers tend not to be the most helpful or sources. They are always either completely vacuous or so astonishingly arrogant that you can’t watch either.

I’ve just read an article on a Doctor Who based app thingy that another fan (not a youtuber) actually got to see the full episode and meet Jodie, Chris and Bradley and spoke to Tosin.

No spoilers were made at all, but he has said that he personally gives The Woman Who Fell To Earth a very high 8/10.

I would like to see proper, high-res, properly lit images of it too, seeing as the leaked image was quite unflattering.

Yeh people are judging it based on the leaked image and you can’t judge something off an unlit, blurry, still under construction picure. So I’m waiting for the first episode where we can see it for real. But then again Chibnall keeps banging on about maybe the TARDIS not being around that much so maybe it’ll be a few episodes before we see it.
