The Sleep Inversion was brilliant, everything I had hoped for. When I watched the trailer I personaly thought that the episode was going to be terrible but that goes to show that you can’t judge a episode by it’s trailer. I wasn’t going to bother to watch this episode but on Saturday then I realised I had nothing to do so I sat down to watch it. I am the greatest Doctor Who fan in history. I sat down and watch it and I was amazed about how much time the Doctor Who writers spent on working on this. Out of 5 stars I rate this ***** . Keep on the good work Doctor Who writers.

    Sincerely,
    Professor Dynamo

Hmm, am I the first or last one to notice that there was a sergeant osgood in the daemons who was good with technology, and that that might be a connection to new series Osgood?

That’s why the new Osgood is called Osgood it’s a throwback to the classic series so I think we’re supposed to think they’re related

Apprantly Moffat was to have them related but it got cut as not to confuse viewers

I absolutely disagree. The guitar is one of The things Capaldi brings to the role from his own life as a former punk rocker. He was in a band with Craig Ferguson.

Beautiful. I loved the speech, and you could really believe Peter Capaldi with everything he said – his hearing more screams than anyone could ever be able to count really moved me. I felt that this was the Doctor in a way that we haven’t seen him for a long time – able to keep peace between people using the power of his words.
Furthermore, I really felt that, rather than belittling the 50th Anniversary special (as was the danger in the premise of this story that DotD was simply a ‘prequel’), it glorified it by making it a peace that lasts, a true victory for the Doctor.
I liked the Doctor’s insistence that an entire culture, race or way of life cannot be judged because of the few people who decide to cause violence (Doctor Who, along with all other fiction, has always used themes which relate to modern day life, intentionally or not). This episode really let out the heart(s) of the show and I hope there are more like this.

Unfortunately, I was confused by this episode, thus missing some elements of the plot. Having said that, though, The Zygon Inversion was probably one of the best episodes character-wise. Twelve’s ‘Osgood Box’ speech at the end had shivers going down my spine. Mr Capaldi, we salute you!

People, people, there is one major, absolutely tremendous flaw in these last 2 Zygon stories. WHERE IS THE SKARASEN! How do the Zygons get their lactic fluid? I must have answers!

And on that note, was there ANY mention of the said creature anywhere in the two episodes ?

It’s still trying to find its way back to Loch Ness. It’s not got the Activator (Zygon Sat Nav) as it ate it at then of Terror of the Zygons.
I do agree – I would have like to have seen it with 2015 effects as not 1975’s best moment. Although I watched it again recently and it is very atmospheric. Well acted and on a limited budget gave it a very polished filmic quality.
      Well worth watching

Oh yeah ‘Terror’ is the classic of classics! The Skarasen is also one of the much better realized big monsters of old Who. I think it and the Krynoid were arguably the only big ones that worked. Unlike the Murka, the Dinosaurs, or Kroll. The Skarasen scared the willies off me back in the day!

The Drashigs also could be said to have worked.

    One word… Excellent!

As people have already said, an amazing performance from PC. From day one of his turn as The Doctor I knew he would be good, but this week he excelled himself.
By far the best Doctor since the resurrection of the show.
Hopefully, after the last few miserable stories, this will mark the beginning of great run, all the way to Series 10.

Wow. Im going to get some stick for flying against popular opinion on here but I hated that episode. Moffats political propaganda, an allorgory of current events.

Capaldi was good as always, and lets have Osgood in the TARDIS. But the scripting was one long political rant. Im sorry but for the first time in the entire history of Doctor Who, I almost switched off.

Totally agree, far to near the knuckle with what is going on in the real world.

My son who is 11 for the first time ever just left the room. His words, too much talking and not enough adventure.

Funny how the episode actually suited the 8pm slot!!

Yeah that episode was awful I totally agree about almost switching off, it was a chore to watch, blatent political propaganda. I certainly feel Capaldi has a long long way to go, just as he was getting tolerable they go an do this to him he is like the uncool uncle that no one wants to be around, Doctor Who is supposed to be quirky funny not quirky lock-a-me-up-in-a-padded-cell. Sonic sunglasses, electric guitairs, jokes about wearable tech, what the hell is happening to our beloved character?? And they’re turning Clara into Martha, probably the least loved companion of the new series, the Companions don’t need to be hanging out with U.N.I.T in their free time they are the flawed real humans not proxy soldiers.

Was good if a bit of a probably inevitable anti climax after the first part.Despite the real world conflct cause and resolution parallels thought it would have been more satisfying if the Doctor had had to take more drastic measures against the Zygon fanatics short of just killing them all.

I have always been a fan of Peter Capaldi as an actor. Last series, the only saving graces were the odd occasions when Capaldi, (or his Doctor) had a little more to do, other than shout at the P.E teacher (urrrgh, quite awful). This episode gave a splendid actor something really weighty to get in to, and what a performance; majestic, strong, wrought and mature; something Doctor Who has sorely missed, in my opinion, in the last few years. Another extremely good episode, it was nice to see Clara as part of the story, rather than *the* story, and it made for a better piece as a whole. Aside from the two stories (awful) before the Zygon episodes, I think this had been the best Doctor Who for years. Excellent Stuff !!
