March 3rd, 2013 - 5:15pmAs great as it was to see these images I feel that the BBC did right in sacking the “gal” who posted them. If you think about it, the images of the sets are the intellectual copyright of the BBC and the person who took them has breached their contract. It is the same as “stealing” from your employers.. you take the consequences!

February 27th, 2013 - 7:17pmI am sorry to hear the gal who leaked the pictureswas fired – however it was in the public WHOVIAN interest surely!!!!!

February 23rd, 2013 - 5:19pmAll the ‘Lime Grove’ and ‘Riverside’studio scenes as featured in this BBC drama recreation are ex- BBC cameras, the same as used on both series of The Hour, plus the monitors, lights, mics and booms. All from the period and hired from Golden Age Tv.
The guy that built those Daleks.

February 24th, 2013 - 2:15pmI thank you sir! But they look thier best through the old school cameras! 😉
Bryan Fraser
February 23rd, 2013 - 3:46pmLooks like they have done a sterling job on the TARDIS interior! especially the original (1963) console-complete with meters/blinking lights/switches and levers! I could have sworn that was Jackie Hill in the pic-very authentic and period clothing-down to coat, skirt and backcombing, just like the teacher Jackie played.
Roll on November!

February 23rd, 2013 - 12:54amwhat are they doing this for yet again i am confused

February 24th, 2013 - 7:41pmPatrick Troughton? I thought this was covering the Hartnell era?
booboo
February 24th, 2013 - 7:54pmyes but part of that will be having to replace the lead Actor and how they come up with the regeneration idea
thedaleksdeath
February 26th, 2013 - 8:28amOhhh ok thanks Booboo
thedaleksdeath
February 26th, 2013 - 7:26pmDoes that mean they may cover the Troughton era?
McGann is the Doctor.
February 22nd, 2013 - 6:18pmWOW
DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 22nd, 2013 - 5:22pmOnce filming on both sets finish, assuming they’ve yet to finish filming scenes on both sets, they should really then send them to where the Doctor Who Experience currently is, cos the Junkyard and original Tardis Console Room sets are a big part of early Doctor Who history.
Bryan Fraser
February 23rd, 2013 - 4:49pmI agree here 100% the TARDIS poice-box and console/interior were a HUGE part of early Dr Who, I sincerely hope these sets don’t get ‘junked’!
The opening scenes of ‘The Planet Of The Giants’ (1965) I remember well, and they have some superb scenes of the early console in action. In the website Tardisbuilders.com a forum member has nearing completion a MAGNIFICENT 1963 console-which has been going on since 2008 that not even the Beeb would believe if they saw it!!
DalekTheSupreme
February 22nd, 2013 - 4:10pmYou know, I’m hoping we see this control room again in the show, along with David Bradley as the First Doctor and those Invasion of Earth Dalek props. Or better, still, the 50th Anniversery Special! 😀
Dr Tom
February 22nd, 2013 - 9:35amWhile they have got this group of actors together could they not remake some of the missing episodes?
stuart1001
February 22nd, 2013 - 10:20amThat’s a good point, I don’t see why they can’t they have the material on the episodes that are missing.
John Smith
February 22nd, 2013 - 10:53amIt probably wouldn’t be the same to remake episodes with new actors. I can understand doing a Documentary of sorts but remaking missing stories is a little too far. I’m happy with the animations that they’re doing so far.
UDWF1
February 22nd, 2013 - 11:44amBeing an actor myself I happen to know it’s not that simple. They might have other work commitments directly after this one and stuff like that. Plus the BBC would have to make extra deals with their agents, etc.

February 22nd, 2013 - 2:53pmwhat have you acted in
John Smith
February 22nd, 2013 - 6:26amThis is looking FANTASTIC! This is going to make the 50th Anniversary way more exciting!

February 21st, 2013 - 10:24pmHoly rassilon that exteriors perfect and the console awsome!!!!!!!!!! Looks like the real Bill Hartnell is on the set
pathdw98
February 21st, 2013 - 9:54pmthis is amazing. beautifully recreated. i hope the tardis set appears in the anniversary episode itself and transferred to the cardiff exhibition with the totters lane set
John Smith
February 22nd, 2013 - 10:54amIf the 60’s TARDIS console appears in the Special I will be excessively happy. If it turned up in the Doctor Who experience I’d be even MORE HAPPY! 🙂
Richard Thomas
February 21st, 2013 - 7:10pmHas someone actually invented time travel and kidnapped the original cast and crew and forced them to come to 2013 to film the special and maybe even re-film some of the missing stories!!
Well I can dream cant I !!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 21st, 2013 - 8:17pmLooking at these pictures, I’d have to agree with you, it really does look like these pictures where taken in 1963 during filming of ‘An Unearthly Child’, but offcourse, it’s just a perfect recreation of the Tardis set, with actors perfectly replicating the look of the original characters.

February 21st, 2013 - 6:11pmIs that a caveman on the right or do mine eyes deceive me?

DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 21st, 2013 - 3:23pmOH MY RASSILON !!!!, I am so in WHO HEAVEN NOW !!!!!! 😀
I was hopeful that they would re-build the Tardis console room set from 1963, and my god they have done so well, it looks as thou they’ve just got all the original walls and console, given them a good brushing down, a good lick of paint, and hey presto, she’s back to her original good old self again, and the rebuilding of the no.76 Totters Lane Junkyard set is superb.
I can’t wait to see this now – HURRY UP NOVEMBER 2013 !!!!!!!!! 😀

February 21st, 2013 - 2:42pmThose sets look amazing
farsighted99
February 21st, 2013 - 1:59pmI have to admit, it knocked me off my socks to see this old set recreated again. It looks so real!
DalekTheSupreme
February 21st, 2013 - 1:26pm*Gasp!* They’ve kidnapped William Hartnell and the original TARDIS crew brought them to 2013! Honestly, they look so much like the actors they’re portraying!
Doctor Who DVD Collector
February 21st, 2013 - 1:10pmI actually cant wait for this. It’s gonna be great!!!
Rooners
February 21st, 2013 - 1:07pmNow they have re-created the TARDIS interior from that era for this drama…it would be shame not to use it in the actual show.
I always thought the Doctor’s Wife would have been even better than it was if the hidden control room was an older version and not just the last one he used.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 21st, 2013 - 3:20pmI’m hoping they will re-use this set in ‘Journey to the Centre of the Tardis’, cos what if the Centre of the Tardis turns out to be a re-creation of the original 1963 console room, and the 11th Doctor and Clara where walking around inside it and touching all the dials and levers on it ?, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !!!!!!!!! 😀
The Silence
February 21st, 2013 - 9:05pmI doubt it’ll be used in ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’ as filming has finished on series 7 now.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 22nd, 2013 - 8:09amReally ? . . . . . . oh bother . . . .
