An Adventure in Space and Time: The Trailer

An Adventure in Space and Time: The Trailer

This special one-off drama travels back in time to 1963 to see how Doctor Who was first brought to the screen.

Actor William Hartnell felt trapped by a succession of hard-man roles. Wannabe producer Verity Lambert was frustrated by the TV industry’s glass ceiling. Both of them were to find unlikely hope and unexpected challenges in the form of a Saturday tea-time drama. Allied with a team of unusual but brilliant people, they went on to create the longest running science fiction series ever made.

I can remember watching Doctor Who as far back as 1973 but have never been excited as I am now: Doctor Who celebrates it’s 50th birthday on my 46th birthday…. And I feel like a child watching Jon Pertwee for the very first time… being excited and scared with the same breath!

Two words: Simply. Amazing. Except those Menoptera costumes. I haven’t seen The Web Planet for years, but I could’ve sworn they looked more convincing than that. On the bright side, the Daleks, Cyberman, and William Hartnell aspects are looking great! 😀

The chances of David Tennant or Matt Smith appearing in this special are very low. This is about the BEGINNING of Doctor Who, not it’s present.
