From the first episode I saw with them (I think Tomb of the Cybermen) I always loved the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria together. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace Deborah, sadly as time marches on we’ll have fewer of our lovely Doctor Who family left. As Tom once said I believe; “If you think about it. The living are entertained by the dead.”

Sadly so true. My thoughts are with her family and friends – especially Frazier Hines as they were the best of friends.

R.I.P Debbie Watling. She was the very first Doctor Who girl I had a crush on,at the tender age of 7. Appearing in my two all time favourite stories, “Evil of the Daleks and “Tomb of the Cybermen “. Gracing these and other classics with her portrayal of the kind and gentle Victoria. The “Alice in Wonderland ” of time and space. So very sad.

She was an absolute gem and a delight to talk with at conventions, with a sparkle that would light up the room. A very sad loss that will be felt by many.

Thankfully we are so fortunate and lucky that stories like ‘Tomb of the Cybermen’ , ‘The Enemy of the World’ and ‘The Web of Fear’ have been recovered over the past 25 years. In the late 80’s I thought these classics were long gone. It is something of a miracle that the 16mm film copies survived. You can see in these stories just how well the 2nd Doctor, Jamie and Victoria work so well together. You really feel the close bond between Troughton, Hines and Watling.

i deeply apologize for the leatherlungs reference. It was what she was fondly remembered as according to Deborah herself from her time on the show. I was unaware that it was lung cancer that had taken her from us fans. sorry, no offence meant at all.

It was a nickname she acquired at the time, due to her loud screaming. I think given by fraser hines. Just didn,t want to sound insensitive with the reference.
