Confirmed for 2013: Cybermen and Stellar Cast
Confirmed for 2013: Cybermen and Stellar Cast
From the official site…
The Doctor will come face-to-face with some old enemies…
We can confirm that the Cybermen will be menacing the universe once again when Doctor Who returns for a run of eight epic episode in spring, 2013.The iconic enemies will feature in an adventure directed by Stephen Woolfenden and written by the acclaimed Neil Gaiman whose previous episode was the Hugo Award-winning, The Doctor’s Wife.
Starring Matt Smith as the Doctor and Jenna-Louise Coleman as the new companion, the episode co-stars Warwick Davis (Life’s Too Short and Harry Potter), Tamzin Outhwaite (EastEnders and Hotel Babylon) and Jason Watkins (Being Human and Lark Rise to Candleford) as a band of misfits on a mysterious planet…
Steven Moffat, Lead Writer and Executive Producer, told us, ‘Cybermen were always the monsters that scared me the most! Not just because they were an awesome military force, but because sometimes they could be sleek and silver and right behind you without you even knowing. ’ He added, ‘And with one of the all-time classic monsters returning, and a script from one of our finest novelists, it’s no surprise we have attracted such stellar names as Tamzin, Jason and Warwick.’
You can check out Cyber-galleries and enjoy clips from Cyberman stories in their very own Cyber-section or revisit Neil Gaiman’s previous Doctor Who adventure by watching interviews with the writer and clips from The Doctor’s Wife.
The Cybermen last appeared in 2011’s Closing Time but debuted in 1966 opposite William Hartnell’s Doctor in the classic The Tenth Planet. Over the years they have proven constant in their attempts to terrorise the Time Lord, invade our planet and destroy humanity… Secrecy surrounds all future adventures but we can’t wait to find out more about the Cybermen’s latest deadly gambit!
Doctor Who returns on December 25th for the Christmas Special and is back for a run of eight episodes in spring, 2013.

November 10th, 2012 - 9:37pm(THE NEW CYBERMEN ARE AWESOME) That is what they should have been when they came back. I’m glad they are finally re-disinged cause the CYBUSMEN look too robotic but these ones look close to human which makes them alot better and more serious.

That Whovian over there
November 10th, 2012 - 9:25amThe new Cybermen look great – so much better than the Cybus ones! 😀
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 8:39amOh! Did you guys see the redesigned Cybermen? I managed to find a picture of them! YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM!
DALEKSKITTLES
November 10th, 2012 - 8:23amdo you think these new cybermen would be able to kill a dalek in a battle??
bronzeRTD dalek v new cybermen
pargium dalek v new cybermen
who would win???
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 8:41amI’m a bigger fan of the Cybermen compared to the Daleks but I hate to say it but from what I’ve seen of the new Cybermen… Probably not. Maybe… But probably not. They still have those cheesy little arm guns and no “HEAVY DUTY LASER CANNONS!” but you never know. They could be tougher than they look.
edoe101
November 10th, 2012 - 9:16amI’d rather have the Cyberman win.
In Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday four Daleks annihilated a lot of RTD Cybermen. But with these new Cybermen, maybe they would be able to destroy a Dalek. I hope so, as the Cybermen are my favourite monsters.
Trenzalore 64
November 10th, 2012 - 10:32amThey seem to march like the old ones. That was the main thing i liked about the cybermen.
Doctor Stu
November 9th, 2012 - 9:07pmAah, I don’t like the new cybermen as much as the old ones. It would be cool if they were mondas cybermen and they have came to earth to fight the cybus ones
Anonymous
November 9th, 2012 - 10:16pmThey are Mondas ones, they have been since TPO
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 8:43amThey are the Mondas ones. The Cybus ones died out yonks ago. The new look Cybermen are boss. DO NOT DISS THEM! From my point of view I never liked the Cybus design and I’m glad that they’re gone. I wonder what they’re voice will sound like. I hope they’re not all high pitched and annoying like the Moonbase-Tomb of the Cybermen ones. EARTHSHOCK VOICES FOR THE WIN!
Jamie
November 9th, 2012 - 8:16pmPictures of the new Cybermen are now online! They look amazing! 😀

November 9th, 2012 - 8:20pmhere if anyone wants to see them http://healthytowers.tumblr.com/

November 9th, 2012 - 8:29pmWhat do you think of them, booboo?
booboo
November 9th, 2012 - 9:03pmbrilliant, much prefer them
Mr Evil Fez
November 9th, 2012 - 9:16pmTotally agree Booboo, didn’t like them at first but now I think they’re better than the cybusmen and I want a action figure of them! 😉
Andrew Hall
November 9th, 2012 - 9:21pmNot keen on the new design, i prefer the Cybus ones to be honest, must be in the minority of fans who do.
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 8:46amThe Cybus ones were way to chunky and clunky. Cybermen should be stealthy, like Weeping Angles. You turn around and then… BAM!!! They’re right behind you. The Cybus ones were all show and no go. I recon that these new Cybermen will be a hit with younger fans and older fans of the show.
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 10:37amHow about this… A Cybermen picks up a Dalek and throws it over the edge of a cliff or something? I’d like to see a Dalek compete with that!
edoe101
November 9th, 2012 - 7:55pmYowza. This is great news! I’m glad the Cybermen are back, and combined with the mighty pen of Neil Gaiman, then it can only mean great things.
Wow, this site has changed a lot. Last time I was here, the comment colour scheme was blue. I used to be here under the name of 5yberman.

the astronaut of death
November 8th, 2012 - 4:55pmguys i have found this site and someone has seen the new cybermen during filming and they have posted a discription
Very similar to the Cybus ones, but they have tighter armour and Tomb of the Cybermen-like faces!!! Really shiny. The armour is like slim-fitted rubber, similar to the new Sontarans, but silver. Guns fixed on arms, and the leader has an extra gun.
They’re walking softly, slowly, and quietly, like the Hartnell/Troughton era Cybermen

November 8th, 2012 - 5:07pmsounds good

November 8th, 2012 - 4:49pmWow! The new Cybermen sound awesome!
John Smith
November 8th, 2012 - 9:19amCybermen, CYBERMEN, CYBERMEN! YES! I Love the Cybermen they’re my favourite Doctor Who enemy (until the got their Cybus industries redesign). I hope that Gaiman will jump to his senses and make a Mondas Cyber story. I heard about the cast and it sounds fantastic. WARWICK DAVIS!
Doctor Who Crazy Ross Muscroft
November 7th, 2012 - 8:43pmNeil Gaiman tweeted me some ideas of title names including ‘One Rani Toomany’, ‘The Fish Timelord’ and ‘Old Time Moonbase’.
Some bloke
November 7th, 2012 - 9:23pmI think these are jokes LOL
Mr Evil Fez
November 8th, 2012 - 7:23amBut then we know the first word has 3 letters, the 2nd has 4, and the 3rd has 8. The — Cybermen?
John Smith
November 8th, 2012 - 9:21amIt’s probably going to be called “The last Cybermen”. To be honest I hate how with so many Doctor Who stories the Cybermen are always scavenging the universe, being a run down load of metal men and there’s only five of them.
the astronaut of death
November 7th, 2012 - 7:36pmi have a feeling this ep is going to be a matt smith classic
also conin baker ( the 6th doctor) is going to be in this years im a celeberity get me out of here .it starts at 9:00pm on sunday on itv1
DarkKnightDalek

But No 5 inch figures 🙁
Emperor Omega
November 7th, 2012 - 11:04pmI know, right? CO couldn’t have picked a worse time for them to alter the scale of the New Series figures. What if these Cybermen are a whole new design? We’d never be able to set them up against any of the old Doctors. 🙁
DarkKnightDalek
November 8th, 2012 - 3:53pmI KNOW so so so sad 🙁
but it will save me some money becuase i will not be collecting them any more
so now i am thinking of collecting Batman figures
Emperor Omega
November 8th, 2012 - 5:32pmTrue, there are some upsides to this. Personally, I’ve started collecting figures from ‘HALO’. I only have 3 so far, but there’ll be plenty more. 🙂
Anonymous
November 9th, 2012 - 9:42pmJust seen the new design. Love it! Still bummed about no 5 inch figure, though. 🙁
John Smith
November 10th, 2012 - 8:47amCHARACTER OPTIONS!!!!!!! They honestly couldn’t of picked a worse time. AHHHH! RAGE FACE! And I love the new design!

November 7th, 2012 - 8:53pmI think people will like him. He’s a really nice man, but being nice isn’t always enough. He’s getting my support though, that’s for sure.
The 14th Doctor
November 7th, 2012 - 9:41pm^That was me
Mr Evil Fez
November 7th, 2012 - 5:40pmThis is brilliant news, I heard it earlier on BBC Radio 2. I love the Cybermen and Neil Gaiman will make them more menacing and evil than ever. Warwick is a really good actor and he’s a nice addition to The Cyberman. 😉
Mr Zarbi
November 7th, 2012 - 4:12pmCybermen! (Hope the ice warriors return as well)

Doctordredd67
November 7th, 2012 - 3:49pmHope they dont have the OUT OF FOCUS title sequence that they had this autumn. It looked terrible.
Jack
November 7th, 2012 - 5:13pmI completely agree with you! It looked awful!
Mr Evil Fez
November 7th, 2012 - 5:31pmI think they will have it again and I like it the title sequence.
Some bloke
November 7th, 2012 - 5:41pmI really didn’t like the different image per story on the logo thing, looked awful!
doctorwhoone
November 7th, 2012 - 7:22pmSadly guys, that’s a trend that will continue with the next 8 episodes 🙁
Hopefully once series 8 has been commissioned by the BBC, the title sequence will go back to the way it was for series 5 and 6, or perhaps a whole new title sequence for Matt Smith could be made, like the video ‘Doctor Who Series 7 opening titles / intro 2012 /13 – VIEW IN HD’ made by ‘Billy Da Kid UK’ which I recommend taking a look at, it is absolutely awesome 😀
AndZa09
November 8th, 2012 - 8:40amYa i loved those titles made by Billy Da Kid UK
Dalek Jake
November 7th, 2012 - 3:35pmNeil Gaimam writing the Cybermen! Can’t Wait
Anonymous
November 7th, 2012 - 3:34pmI hope they make there redisghn more human looking like in the tenth planet
Some bloke
November 7th, 2012 - 3:21pmThis is going to be episode 13, so it should be pretty epic 🙂
Esterath
November 7th, 2012 - 3:41pmEpisode 12.
Some bloke
November 7th, 2012 - 3:50pmno 13, there are 8 episodes in the spring next year, not including the christmas special. The christmas special counts as episode 6, therefore the cybermen will be in episode 13
Ben Roberts
November 7th, 2012 - 4:24pmThe Christmas episode doesn’t count as episode 6. The production code for the Christmas episode is 7.X (series 7 – Xmas), and the production code for episode 6 is 7.6. So, this episode will be episode 12. Episode 13 is being written by Moffat.
Some bloke
November 7th, 2012 - 4:34pmok fair enough, but which ever way you look at it, we’re both right, because although it is a christmas special, its still the sixth episode in the series. It’s not like you can skip over it
doctorwhoone
November 7th, 2012 - 2:43pmWarwick ‘Star Wars’ Davies ? . . . . NICE !!!! 😀
I saw Warwick recently recently at the London MCM Expo during the last weekend of October. He was there also back in May this year.
Wish the Cybus version of the Cybermen where deleted now, there boring, not as fun as they where in my view, and I don’t like the idea that the Mondasian Cybermen of our universe now look like them but with a different chest plate in place of the Cybus logo. Ours should return with a new design, or one that has never been seen on screen like the ones in the 6th Doctor online story ‘Real Time’ or the 8th Doctor comic strip ‘The Flood’.
The TARDIS
November 7th, 2012 - 7:03pmHands up for Real Time Cybermen!!!
AlphaOmega
November 7th, 2012 - 2:17pmI hope they have a better role than in Closing Time…
Dalek Strategist
November 7th, 2012 - 1:22pmCybermen? Well, maybe they’re redesigning them! Oh well, I hope they’re gonna get more of an appearance than they did in Series 6.
The 14th Doctor
November 7th, 2012 - 12:01pmNormally, I wouldn’t be that fussed. The Cybermen have been in it a bit too much in SM years. But NEIL GAIMAN is writing it! He’ll give the Cybermen some of their menace back!
The Macra Terror
November 7th, 2012 - 3:57pmThey haven’t had a single two parter under the Moffat era. I think personally this is a superb oppurtunity to redesign them again , the best versions need to be looked at, The Moonbase/Tomb Cybermen were for me the very best but I do also have a soft spot for The Invasion ones going crazy in the sewers.
Doctor Stu
November 7th, 2012 - 11:53amsounds good
