I loved this episode and think at the end of this series it may well be one of the best we will have seen! the effects when we look through the mask reminds me quite a lot of the Predator but less ugly! lol

Dr What, I’m very english and have followed Dr Who for the last 35 years or so. Truth be told, my previous post was written way before the trailor for last nights ep was broadcast, so at the time no one was aware of the mask thing, as the Silurians have never had masks before (And having seen last nights ep I seriously cant see the point of them having masks now either !). All that said, last night’s ep was far and away the best of the season so far and I for one cant wait to see the next part ! I can forgive the cheap looking and human sounding Silurians, as I found myself completely drawn into the plot and one of the best cliffhangers since Doctor Who returned to our screens in 2005 !

Thetasigma if you are not English then you wont know that the grey faces are just masks that the Silurians wear.

Remember that the old doctor HATED the aliens carrying guns, when the eleventh doctor doesn’t really mind… If the silurians are good and carrying guns, the old doctor would have done a BIG mistake… and maybe this doctor??

The newlook Silurians are supposed to be a sub-species of the original Silurians seen in the Jon Pertwee era. This was designed to help the actors give a more expressive performance.

The 11th Doctor, just a thought, if you look at the eyes of the creatures carrying guns you’ll notice them being totaly different from the those not carrying guns ? Those not carrying guns have somewhat human eyes where as those carrying guns have distinctly more “alien” eyes. The suggestion is that the gun carrying creatures are “The Sea Devils” the ‘cousins’ of the Silurians. I’m inclined to agree as I cant recall a story in which the silurians carried guns (Mainly because they didnt need to due to the 3rd eye that they used to have in their head that seems to have mysteriously dissapeared in this realisation of the creatures !).
