Doctor Who 2015 UK Symphonic Celebration Pictures

The first of several Doctor Who Symphonic Celebration concerts has taken place in London. Visitors were treated to an array of music composed by Murray Gold from the last 10 years of Doctor Who. The shows are hosted the very witty Peter Davison and the orchestra conducted by Ben Foster.

Numerous monsters were in attendance including The Teller, The Foretold, Silurians, Daleks and more.

The live show, which was a sell-out on its world premiere in Australia, will enjoy a limited run of twelve UK performances in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. It features over 100 performers and is conducted by Ben Foster, who conducts and orchestrates the musical scores for the TV series. Music will be performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

just the standard merchandise kiosk with dedicated mugs t shirts bags and the likes

Not sure what the viability of someone like the BBC shop being there would have been, security would be as issue as the masses would have descended within a short period of time

Saw the show Saturday evening at Wembley. I’ve been to loads of film concerts over the year from composers such as John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith and Ennio Morricone, as well as the Filmharmonic concerts from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and this is the best concert I’ve ever seen; a perfect mix of audio and visual, some great comparing from Peter Davison and amusing backchat from Ben Foster, while most of the music being suites are slightly different from the soundtrack albums, so you don’t feel as if you’ve heard them before. Well done and thanks to all concerned. An absolutely brilliant evening. If you’re undecided about going, this concert is highly recommended

I saw this last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Peter Davison was a wonderful host, the music fantastic (but who expected anything else?) and the vocalist absolutely astonishing. I found myself tearing up on multiple occasions, most notably in Song of Freedom. Great work to all involved.
