I think I have a theory of why most of the episodes that we have seen have been ‘good’, ‘average’, ‘bad’or ‘boring. This is so that everyone will be anticipating for the 50th Anniversary and so when we see it, it will seem like the best ever episode due to the mediocre episodes we have seen prior to it. The BBC are probably doing this so that all the hype for the 50th Anniversary will not seem just average or playing with fanboys’ hopes.

I still think they should have done one episode per old doctor spin off series if they couldn,t involve them in the 50th. They cold go wih the working title of ‘blue box adventures’.

Clara can’t be River anyway, cos River and her will be seen together in ‘The Name of the Doctor’.

    • anonymous

      May 4th, 2013 - 5:29pm

That doesn’t mean she can’t be – multiple Doctors have been together in more than one episode. Still, I hope Clara isn’t River, I hope she’s another Time Lord and maybe she can regenerate into the same form always…

What we know from hints by Jenna Louise Coleman is that Clara has met the Doctor more than three times which means that she is someone from his past.

The scenes being filmed at Coal Hill School seemed to be contemporary, with schookids in modern dress. Clara was seen riding her bike into the schoolyard.

Meanwhile, at Totter’s Lane, they filmed a recreation of the very first shot of the very first episode, with a policeman walking past the yard. It’s not clear how far they went with this – the original shot is rather extended and ends up making a journey into the Yard and up to the Tardis.

Yeah I wish Donna appears instead of Rose, Donna may not have looks but in my opinion she’s the only great companion of the RTD era.

    • Dalek The Supreme

      May 5th, 2013 - 4:06am

I agree Rose shouldn’t have come back after Doomsday. I think Martha and Donna had potential but Martha was overshadowed by the Doctor missing Rose and ignoring her alot and Donna was turned into a huge cop out.

Tom Baker and the other classic Doctors will not be appearing, the latest issue of DWM says so.

Who says Daleks and Cybermen are going to be in this special ?. Ive read nothing that says they will be.

I am aware of the Zygon’s returning, or at least the appearance of a lone Zygon at least.

Oh I see. I check each morning on Google just by typing in ‘Doctor Who 50th Anniversary’ for anything new concerning the anniversary, sometimes during the day for any new updates, and nothing Ive come across has ever said anything about the Daleks and Cybermen appearing.

The only thing concerning Cybermen appearing is the upcoming ‘Nightmare in Silver’ next Saturday after this Saturday’s 100th new series episode ‘The Crimson Horror’.

it’s not official that any 20th century doctors wont be in it. DWM have only said they wont be involved based on the fact that sylvester mccoy keeps saying in interviews that none of them have heard anything! Again, it may just be the actors lying to keep it a secret. We won’t know anything final, until the BBC officially announce it like Eccleston’s involvement.

    • DoctorWhom

      May 3rd, 2013 - 10:29am

DWM said it because Tennant told them Some Bloke! Not anything to do with Mcoy. And seeing as how only Tennant and Smith have been seen it seems likely he is telling the truth.

    • Anonymous

      May 3rd, 2013 - 1:02pm

it doesn’t say that tennant told them. It says ‘Althogh David Tennant has returned to the role of the tenth doctor, the other old doctors will not be taking part.’ At no point in that sentence does it say ‘david tennant has told us that no other doctors will be taking part’. And as i have said, the BBC have not officially announced it. For all we know their scenes could be set all in a studio.

      May 3rd, 2013 - 11:08pm

They might be lying, we might have two Doctors for the 50th, or maybe they’ve used old footage of the Classic Doctors. Only the people involved know for sure, and even then they might not be honest with us until the special is broadcast. I read about the Daleks and Cybermen appearing on Wikipedia, but someone (I think booboo) told me it wasn’t so. All we can do is hope, and even if we don’t get Daleks or Classic Doctors, be able to judge the special on what it has rather than what it doesn’t have.

      May 3rd, 2013 - 11:20pm

creator of the zygons, Robert Banks Stewart (who would have been asked if they can use the zygons in the 50th) has said that the cybermen and daleks will be in it. Whether he’s guessing or knows, we don’t know

Filming of Mark Gatiss’s ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ took place throughout and ended in February, so it seems the Junkyard gate and the Coal Hill School sign maybe from his Documentary Drama, just being re-used for whatever may concern revisiting the School and Junkyard in this 50th Anniversary Special.

William Hartnell is sadly deceased. All thou he was replaced by Richard Hurndall in ‘The Five Doctors’, I don’t think many fan’s would want to see the 1st Doctor being played by another actor, with the exception of David Bradley offcourse for Mark Gatiss’s documentary drama ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ as William Hartnell/the Doctor.
