Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Read through Finished

50th Anniversary Read-through finished – with a picture many of you would be hoping you would see…

From the official site…

The read through for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special took place earlier this evening, Monday, 1 April.

Current Doctor Matt Smith was joined by David Tennant and many more familiar faces including Jenna-Louise Coleman (Clara) and Doctor Who’s head writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat.

Over the weekend we confirmed that David Tennant and Billie Piper would both be returning to the show for the eagerly anticipated 50th anniversary special. We also revealed that screen legend John Hurt would also feature in the adventure.

The episode’s production continues all this week and we’ll be bringing you more news very soon…

Imagine the dialog in Who if the 50th anniversary featured Doctors from the past 50 years! All I can say is,

ALLONS-Y!!!!!!! Fezzes are cool. Bow ties are cool, and speaking French is cool. I won’t blink and will stay calm – too afraid of missing anything in that 50th anniversary episode.

To, “obeythewhispermen”. I personally would love to be “squished” in the middle of them. Only trouble is I would be in no fit state to “RUN!” anywhere. All I could do is attempt a feeble but rapid crawl. Does this mean I wouldn’t make the grade as an assistant?

What they should have done for the anniversary is to include all the unofficial Doctors from non-canon productions such as Chris Hoyle from the Projection Room’s Fan-Made Doctor Who Series or Richard E.Grant’s 9th Doctor from the Scream of the Shalka Episode. Or Even the Infamous INSPECTOR SPACE-TIME.

Congratulations. If your earlier post is any indication you have not even seen any of the Doctors beyond the last three, so I don’t see how the fact that you simply know their names should be in any way impressive.

After studying the photo of Matt and David for the read-through we are all in danger of being de-railed slightly. I think Steven Moffat has in mind to call this “The Hand of Evian” (other water products are available). On John Hurt being The Master or even The Great Intelligence is a dastardly and glorious notion. Roll on November!

The BBC played the most horrible Fools’ Day prank yesterday. I read an article on the Doctor Who section of the BBC site that said “, After weeks of auditions, Robert Pattinson has been cast as the 12th Doctor.” I screamed in anger so loudly I wonder if any of you in Britain heard me. Then at the end of the article it finally said “, And if you thought this article was real, make sure you’re not a Zygon copy.” I now realize that was a hint towards the Zygons’ return, but I was to agrivated at first the BBC even considering Robert Pattinson for the Doctor’s role and then casting him.

When the times really does come to regenerate the Doctor into the 12th incarnation, they should have an older actor again in the role.

      My choices –

      ANTHONY STEWARD HEAD
As Rupert Giles in the 1st 3 series of Joss Whedon’s ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, he looked very Doctor-ish in appearance, and you could have joked that the Sunnydale High School Library was his Tardis, disguised as part of Buffy’s old High School.

All thou Anthony has been in Doctor Who back in Series 2’s School Reunion as Mr Finch / Brother Lazzar of the Krillitane’s, he can still become the Doctor, as history has proven in the last 50 years with Colin Baker playing another Time Lord who got to shoot Peter Davison’s 5th Doctor before he ended up as the 6th Doctor to replace Peter.

      ALAN DAVIES
As Johnathan Creek he was also very Doctor like, and had female companions of his own too.
