Doctor Who Experience – Review/Pictures

Doctor Who Experience – Review/Pictures

As we all know today saw the first of 3 Doctor Who Experience preview days before the official opening on Sunday 20th February.

Tickets for the show are on sale now through www.doctorwhoexperience.com and watch out soon for a dedicated merchandise shop. You can also keep up to date via the Doctor Who Experience Twitter page.

The first thing to say is that we are not going to spoil anything of the experience itself here that isn’t already known – needless to say the less you know about it the more you will enjoy it! Its terrific fun, has a great ending and a few scares and surprises along the way. Its common knowledge that you spend a while in the 11th Doctors Tardis – worth most of the entrance fee alone. Photography is not allowed in the experience itself – understandable as it needs to be seen, heard and felt first hand and unspoilt.

Once you have finished your “your trip of a lifetime” you are greeted by an astonishing array of Monsters and villains from the Classic and new series. Photography is unrestricted here and below is a very extensive gallery of what’s on show but again don’t view this if you don’t want to know what’s there. The dedication and effort to bring such a collection together cannot be understated.

As any one who has been today will surely tell you its a credit to all involved and not to be missed and if you cant get to London then its in Cardiff next year.

There is an on-site shop which has a wide selection of merchandise although it was disappointing that an entire wall dedicated to the shows “exclusive” merchandise was empty with just a coming soon slogan.

We can also confirm that the advertised Wifi works successfully giving you a whole load of extra information relating to the monsters and aliens at the Doctor Who Experience.

Went to this on Monday. It was an enjoyable (if expensive after train etc) day out for half-term but felt slightly cheated that we were rushed through the actual ‘experience’. Don’t want to spoil for others who haven’t been yet, but there was one section I’d heard about and was looking forward to where staff members were actually shouting at us to hurry up even though at no point had we actually stopped moving, we were just trying to take in the scenery a bit!
Here’s a tip though, in the shop they are selling a wardrobe-type cloth tardis for £69.99. It is exactly the same one my daughter has in her bedroom, £44.99 from Argos!

    One more thing:
“and watch out soon for a dedicated merchandise shop.”
Does that mean an online store in definite? I too am disappointed at the empty “exclusives” wall 🙁

It was supposed to be but there is no sign of it at the moment, we left about 3.30 and they only had 4 or 5 Roman Autons left, i gather its much better stocked now

Booboo, as i believe, i went to the DWE an hour before you. They were full of Pandorica action figures (i got original release Amy, i reckon she’ll be rare!).
Mind you, i did see a man piling the figures like there’s no tomorrow!

Can you go inside the Pandorica
Not the one in the pictures but there is a chair in front of a green screen where you have your picture done
