Doctor Who 2015 UK Symphonic Celebration

Doctor Who Musical Celebration 2015

For more information visit www.seetickets.com

Vision Nine and BBC Worldwide are delighted to announce the UK and European premiere of the hugely popular Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular at six major city venues in May 2015.

The live show, which was a sell-out on its world premiere in Australia, will enjoy a limited run of twelve UK performances in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. It features over 100 performers and is conducted by Ben Foster, who conducts and orchestrates the musical scores for the TV series. Music will be performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

The show features a host of the Doctor’s famous adversaries including the iconic Daleks and Cybermen, the spine-chilling Silence and many more fan favourites. The live monsters provide a dramatic contrast to the evocative and thrilling music written by Murray Gold, who has been responsible for composing music for the series over the last eight years, including the record-breaking (and BAFTA award-winning) 50th anniversary episode Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor.

The show will also feature Murray’s latest score and footage from the forthcoming series 8, which will be broadcast around the world later this summer.

The live music will be accompanied by a big screen presentation of key moments and specially edited sequences from the past 50 years of Doctor Who. Tickets will go on general sale via the event and box office websites at 9am on Friday 1 August 2014, 2014, with prices starting at £20 per person.

Fans will discover the identity of the guest presenter for the UK shows in early 2015.

The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular was first presented in Melbourne, Australia in February 2012, it went on to play a further nine sell-out performances at the Sydney Opera House in December 2012 receiving praise from the Australian media and fans alike. The Herald Sun called the show “Evocative and thrilling in equal measure” whilst the Sydney Morning Herald said: “The whole experience brought unalloyed pleasure that in some cases amounted to a religious rite”. The show has continued to draw record figures in Australia and most recently thrilled over 34,000 fans across three cities in New Zealand.

Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular Tickets

A live musical invasion! The UK premiere of a new version of the hugely popular Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular.

The live show, which was a sell-out on its world premiere in Australia, will enjoy a run of twelve UK performances in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. It features well over 100 performers on stage and is conducted by Ben Foster, who conducts and orchestrates the musical scores for the television show. The music will be performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

The show will feature a host of the Doctor’s famous adversaries; previous productions have included the iconic Daleks, the awe-inspiring Cybermen, the spine-chilling Silence and many more fan favourites. The live monsters provide a dramatic counterpoint to the evocative and thrilling music written by Murray Gold, responsible for the last eight years of epic Doctor Who music including the record-breaking (and BAFTA award-winning) 50th anniversary episode “The Day or the Doctor”.

The show will also feature Murray’s new music for and footage from Doctor Who Series 8, which will be broadcast around the world later this year.

The live music will be accompanied by a big screen presentation of key moments and specially edited sequences from the past 50 years of Doctor Who.

On the ticketing website it says something about presale commencing on Wednesday 30th July. Does anyone know what this means as I thought that tickets didn’t go on sale until the 1st August.

What is the difference between the tickets being on presale and just on sale?

I know! For a family show, they haven’t really considered the fact that the audience is going to be at school / college either in lessons or doing exams. I’d love to be able to go, but it think I’ll be bound by AS level exams.

I do, but I’ll have five big exams and to go to one of these events would take away an awful lot of revision time.

However, my college time table doesn’t mention the fact that it is summer half term. It only goes up to spring. My mistake. Oops 🙂

If I was in charge of Doctor Who as Executive Producer, I’d do a story in my hometown of Ilford in Essex, or maybe Barking which is where I lived during my early life as a kid.

I wish Doctor Who would film a story in home town of Ilford here in Essex, or even nearby Barking which is where I lived during my early childhood.

Hell, if I was in charge of Doctor Who as Executive Producer, I’d have a story set in Ilford, with some of it in Barking 😀

Russell T. Davies could have done ‘The Unquiet Dead’ from series 1 in his home town of Swansea, but it was done by Mark Gatiss in Swansea instead.

Wish something to do with Doctor Who would happen here in my home town of Ilford in Essex, or nearby areas Barking, Dagenham, Romford and Stratford.

Hell, I’d love it if a Doctor Who was filmed in Ilford or even nearby Barking.

Russell T. Davies himself would understand, cos he said during series 1 of Doctor Who – Confidential that he grew up in Swansea and was a bit annoyed that series 1’s ‘The Unquiet Dead’ was being done in Swansea but not written by him, it was done by his friend Mark Gatiss instead . . . . so close, so close and yet so far 🙂
