Doctor Who Journey to the Centre of the Tardis

Saturday 27th April 6:30pm – 7:15p BBC One BBC1 HD

The Tardis is captured by a spaceship salvage team, sending its systems into meltdown.

As the Doctor introduces himself to the motley crew of galactic rag-and-bone men, he realises Clara is still trapped within his malfunctioning ship, so he persuades his new acquaintances to help find his companion, taking them deep into the heart of his beloved blue box.

But their hopes of a straightforward rescue are dashed when it turns out Clara is not the only one down there. Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman star, with Ashley Walters (Inside Men).

Doctor Who – The Crimson Horror

Saturday 4 May

There’s something very odd about Mrs Gillyflower’s Sweetville mill, with its perfectly clean streets and beautiful people.

There’s something even stranger about the bodies washing up in the river, all bright red and waxy. When the Doctor and Clara go missing, it’s up to Vastra, Jenny and Strax to rescue them before they too fall victim to the Crimson Horror!

(above comment continued) And the same with the salvage team, and even Clara herself! Hopefully there won’t be another The Girl Who Waited if they end up with multiple Clara’s(old and young presumably) and the Doctor has to choose which one to keep.

Maybe in the TARDIS , because it travels in time, the Doctor meets his future self, still looking for Clara, then in the future, the Doctor meets his past self who would go on to be his future self and so on. Any other theories of who, or what, might be down there with Clara?

I think it is something to do with clara, personally that episode looks the most exciting, I hope it’s like the paternoster gang solving the mystery, with a little help from the docotr and clara, who are more in need of rescue than to rescue others, if you get me!

out of all of them, that episode is the one everyone seems to be least looking forward to, but i think this could be my favorite (its my favorite poster)! i think its clara who gives it the chitty chitty bang bang feel!

I agree, we’ve already had a bit of mild horror in Cold War(torn-up bodies), so the idea of bodies RED(the colour of blood) and waxy might be a bit too creepy for younger audiences, I’m 11 and I got nightmares after Cold War(although I think my squeamishness had a big part in it!)

      April 19th, 2013 - 12:30pm

then dont watch. dr who should be scary thats what makes it good. dinos on spaceship bad.

      power of 4 bad

      blink good

dr who used to be on about 7 or 8 because it was a little creepy

so far dr who as turned in to the teletubbies with all the cheesey jokes

      sarah jane = younger one

      dr who should = teens

      torchwood = adults

    • RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND

      April 19th, 2013 - 8:50pm

yes, who can be scary, but not too scary. just like when the human turned into the wolf in tooth and claw, i was 7, and i still can’t watch it. yes, let doctor who be scary, but not too scary that it’s unfit for viewing to younger people, that’s just unfair to younger children who enjoy the show, but who are too scared to watch it. i was so scared of the waters of mars i couldn’t watch some of it, and for me, that episode wasn’t that enjoyable because i was that scared. i don’t call that enjoyable, i call that extreme.

    • TheDoctorGallifrey

      April 20th, 2013 - 9:50am

I like how doctor who is scary, but it’s just sometimes it’s too scary.

    • TheDoctorGallifrey

      April 20th, 2013 - 9:50am

Also, I exaggerated a bit when I said I had nightmares, sorry.

    • outnumbered

      April 20th, 2013 - 10:42am

thats why waters of mars is one of the best eps ever of dr who. as it was scary. im 12 and i was so scared when i saw the unquiet dead ( i was about 6 or 5 then) but when i did watch it again i felt grown up and happy about something i was scared but not anymore. dr who was never for young kids it was for and if it was let them be scared thats called growing up and letting them live and if they are scared and people complain. then were just going to get stupid ep like dinos on a spaceship.

    • outnumbered

      April 20th, 2013 - 10:46am

we watch dr who for the monsters

    • RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND

      April 20th, 2013 - 11:06am

but not to be so scared that a section of the audience can’t watch it.

    • outnumbered

      April 20th, 2013 - 6:56pm

scary is good no im not talking horror film scary but old david 10th dr scary. it was good back then as the writers were not scared of getting complaints from over protective parents. if kids cant be scared now then what kind of a world do we live in

    • RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND

      April 23rd, 2013 - 6:27pm

kids can be scared, but not so much so they can’t watch! like hide, that was just creepy, whereas red waxy bodies sounds a bit drastic. is there a need of it? i’d like to see how that turns out…

    • outnumbered

      April 24th, 2013 - 9:47am

YES BUT HIDE WAS BAD because they did not make it scary

why could it not have been a real ghost

if i wrote dr who it would be on at 8pm so it could be scary again

    • RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND

      April 24th, 2013 - 6:10pm

true, i would’ve liked hide to have been a real ghost, because in the trailer the purpose was to be creepy.

Not every Cyberman story has to have “Cybermen” in the title, look at The Tenth Planet, The Moonbase, The Wheel in Space, The Invasion, Earthshock, Silver Nemesis, Doomsday, The Next Doctor, The Pandorica Opens, or Closing Time.

If I recall, I think I read something on the Internet along time ago saying that before the Doctor stole the Tardis on Gallifrey, there was a Technician making repairs, and then the Doctor and Susan turned up and stole the Tardis while this Gallifreyan Technician was repairing her systems, and this guy ended up getting himself lost in the Tardis.

If I remember correctly, thou I maybe wrong, I think it was a story for a Big Finish audio with Terry Molloy voicing the Technician. I just have a vague memory of it now and can’t remember where I read about it online, but we’ll see who or what is down there with Clara when the time comes.

Journey to the Centre of the Tardis should really be the 100th episode in my view, not the Crimson Horror, after all, it’s not every story the Tardis get’s to be the focus of a story, which for her only happened last time 2 years back with ‘The Doctors Wife’ when the old girl become human [sort off] and allowed herself to talk with the Doctor properly after 48 years to adventures together by that time.

All the Tardis usually does is drop the main characters into the adventure and wait around to pick them up and take them to the next adventure at the end of a story
