Here are other official story synopsis for the episodes of Series 8…

    Ep.4 – Listen
What happens when the Doctor is alone pacing the TARDIS by candlelight, poking the shadows with a stick, listening for a footfall among all those endless, empty rooms? What scares the grand old man of space and time? What horrors lurk under his bed?

Ghosts of the past and future crowd into the lives of the Doctor and Clara: a terrified caretaker in a children’s home, the last man standing in the universe, and a certain little boy who doesn’t want to join the army

    Ep.5 – Time Heist
The Bank of Karabraxos is the deadliest bank in the cosmos, only a fool or a genius would attempt to rob it. Fortunately for the Doctor, he is both
with the help of a beautiful shape-shifter and a cyber-augmented gamer, the Doctor and Clara fight their way past the most dangerous security system ever devised. But nothing the Doctor has encountered can prepare them for the Teller: a creature of terrifying power that can detect guilt

    Ep.6 – The Caretaker
Clara has it all under control: her life at school, her life in space, her new boyfriend and her mad old Time Lord. Everything is humming along just fine, so long as everybody never actually meets.

And then, one morning, just before assembly, Coal Hill School welcomes a new relief caretaker with a Scottish accent.

With Clara’s world about to explode around her, terrifying events near the school make it clear that the rest of the world is about to do the same. The Skovox Blitzer is ready to destroy all humanity and worse, any second now, Danny Pink and the Doctor are going to meet

    Ep.7 – Kill The Moon
In the near future, the Doctor and Clara arrive on a decrepit shuttle making a suicide mission to the Moon. Crashing on the lunar surface, they find a mining base full of eviscerated corpses, spider-like creatures scuttling in the dark, and a terrible dilemma.

When Clara turns to the Doctor for help she gets the shock of her life. Is the man she has trusted so long really a hero after all? Is he even her friend?

Ep.8 – Mummy on the Orient Express
Aboard the most beautiful train in history speeding along the stars of the future, a legend is stalking the passengers. Once you see the Mummy, you have 66 seconds to live. No exceptions, no reprieve.

As the Doctor races against the clock to defeat this mythical foe, Clara sees him at his deadliest and most ruthless and finally realises she has made the right decision.

Because this is their last adventure: it’s time to say goodbye to the Time Lord

    Ep.9 – Flatline
Separated from the Doctor, Clara discovers a new menace from another dimension. But how do you hide when the walls are no protection?

With people to save and no madman in a box to help, Clara goes against an enemy that exists far beyond normal human perception

Ep.10 – In the Forest of the Night
One morning in London, and every city and town in the world, the human race wakes up to the most surprising invasion yet: the trees have moved back in. Everywhere, in every land, a forest has grown overnight and taken back the Earth, an impossible stranglehold of vegetation, The Doctor soon realises that the final days of humanity have arrived…

    Ep.11 – Dark Water
You betrayed me. You betrayed my trust, our friendship, and everything I’ve ever stood for. You let me down.

In the mysterious world of the Nethersphere, plans have been drawn. Old friends and old enemies manoeuvre round the Doctor, and an impossible choice is looming before him.
Death is not the end, promises the sinister organisation known only as 3W but as the Doctor and Clara discover, you might wish it was

    Ep.12 – Death in Heaven
The Earth has been invaded by Cybermen, will the combined forces of the Doctor, Clara and UNIT be enough to prevent the end of the world?

Not so sure about the time heist alien with the phallic protrubrances on its face. Remember the vervoid head designs. Might invoke a few giggles.

They all sound good but I hope Strax is a little bit more serious this series because the sontarans were a powerful species that in series 4 choked the whole planet and now its just Strax telling cringy grenade jokes….it would be good to see a sontaran story line where strax’s alliegence is tested though.

I’m also glad to have a two part finale too, since I always felt it added an extra element of grandness to the finale, not to mention that it gives more time to build up a good story without being rushed, and leaves everyone more excited for the last episode (part 2)

  • DALEKSKITTLES

    August 18th, 2014 - 8:15pm

Here’s my theory on “into the dalek”
The lobe reble ship being hunted and chased by the daleks is carrying a dalek prisoner, the doctor lands on the reble ship and decides to help them, the only way he can get to the daleks is through the dalek! Using codes he still has from Clara (dalek Clara) from asylum of the daleks he hacks into the daleks telepathy path web and him and Clara go into the daleks mind….revealing directs etc…but also the biggest dalek secret.. How to turn them good, using the dalek he can turn them good, but must ask himself, he dosnt know if he’s a good man yet, so what right does he have to turn the daleks good. Danny pink may go with them as he could be a reble on the ship and ends up being a companion 🙂
    Just my theory ! 🙂

      August 18th, 2014 - 10:49pm

      Interesting theory!
But it’s been confirmed that Danny Pink is a teacher from Coal Hill School

From preview clips The Dalek seems to be asking for help, and so I think it is a good, but damaged Dalek, and by going inside it (through use of a shrink ray – ala Fantastic Voyage) they fix it, but also find a means to turn the rest of The Daleks good, but The Doctor questions whether it is ethical to change the morality of a whole species, and whether he himself is a good man

    • DALEKSKITTLES

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:05pm

I don’t see how they can do the whole shrink ray thing, but would be intresting to see of they do it 🙂 if it’s it’s his first time in the tardis…daleks ouch bad first time 😛

    • The Other

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:06pm

    • DALEKSKITTLES

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:08pm

I wanna know how it got damaged either a off screen war? Time war?? Or a dalek from trenzalor that survived the doctors regeneration !

    • The Other

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:09pm

Things similar to shrink rays have been done before in Who
There was a shrink ray in “The Armaggedon Factor”, and minature clones in “The Invisible Enemy”

    • The Other

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:10pm

Or perhaps a battle with the rebel ship?

    • DALEKSKITTLES

      August 18th, 2014 - 11:13pm

Could be! 🙂 perhaps it’s a prisoner of the rebel ship and the daleks must destroy the only good dalek as it goes against the whole dalek race!!

I know right lol ! I really hope this episode isn’t a repeat of asylum! I liked the idea of asylum just I didn’t think it was pulled off very well :/ apparently this episode shows a very darker side to the daleks!! It’s was described as “a gritty dalek episode where they get nasty”

    • lepter

      August 20th, 2014 - 11:15pm

maybe its one of the human factor daleks from the classic missing story….evil of the daleks. If its a good dalek…..and phil morris could have found the story in his african search. Web of fear referenced in the snowman? History repeating itself? who knows.

Production time for episode 1 would be around 2 episodes worth, but Moffat thinks that you should only have 2 parters if the episode changes direction in part 2. Therefore it is one episode nearly the length of two (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the final 2-parter was a little longer than 45 minutes too) so they are pretty much doing the same amount.

    • Professor When

      August 18th, 2014 - 10:38pm

Good point. Not to get all spiritual and stuff, but I do believe in an Afterlife; not a christian one, just a sort of happy place that I probably only believe in to deal with the inevitability of death… I just don’t think it would really work in the world of Doctor Who. Doctor Who is about accepting change, and an afterlife model goes against that, and is more at home in series such as Harry Potter. But then again, I also thought that Matt Smith wouldn’t work as a Doctor, and I was very wrong indeed….

I love the idea of a planet though, that could sprout all sorts of cool ideas and visuals. 😀
