Doctor Who Series 6 begins in Utah desert

Doctor Who series will begin in the Utah desert

From BBC News

The sixth series of Doctor Who will open with a two-parter set in the US, the BBC has announced.

Scenes will be filmed in the Utah desert for a story set in the late ’60s in which the Doctor, Amy and Rory find themselves on a secret summons to the Oval Office.

The episodes have been written by new series boss Steven Moffat and co-produced with BBC America.

Production starts in Cardiff this month with Matt Smith and Karen Gillen.

Alex Kingston will reprises her role as River Song.

Moffat said: “The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound get round to America eventually.

“And of course every Doctor Who fan will be jumping up and down and saying he’s been in America before. But not for real, not on location – and not with a story like this one.”

It has been announced previously that series six has been split into two blocks, with the first airing on BBC One in spring 2011 and the second block showing in autumn 2011.

It’s going to be ecstatic because before series 6 the doctor will be in SJA Sarah Jane Adventures which will be thrilling but I don’T reckon that the doctor won’t die and I can guarantee that by a fact.

the two-parter series opener sounds like a normal episodes like the usual 4 and 5 two-parter , thats good that means that they getting down to business quicker.
maybe soon they can film in austrailia, new zealand, china and all over world (having more good sites for filming for portaying alien worlds or something) frankly i’m sick of them filming in quarries and the bad-wolf bay place (seriously they’ve used that location 3 times -to my knowledge)
spread the who love to other countries like torchwood new world is doing.

This is brilliant news, I don’t see why people are companing.
VITAL SCENES are being filmed, it’s not going to the USA! It’s like when they went to Dubai, Dubai didn’t take Doctor Who over!
    Very excited now…
