Where is the Doctor? When the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force, Clara needs her friend. But where is the Doctor, and what is he hiding from?

She’s an amazing actress and the priestess character works so well with Capaldi’s Dr, I hope we see more of her in series 9 and not just in this mini prologue.

If Julian is back as Davros, then they are keeping very tight lipped about it.

The Daleks featured in the trailers for the season, were at Bovington Tank Museum in July, also with them was Davros, so the ‘he’ in this prologue could be Davros. Personally, I hope the ‘he’ in question is The Master, and “Missy” -*urrggh*, is one of his servants -(The Magicians Apprentice ?) and therefore is a new character in her own right – which perhaps would elevate her -or “is that just me being cynical ?” Or perhaps it will be something completely different and another twist…….Anyhoo, good prologue, look forward to see how it plays out.

Maybe missy is a future incarnation of the master and the weird man with the cracked face is the actual master currently

I just don’t like the awful “Missy” title. If The Master is going to be female, fine, no probs, just now the cat is out the bag, just call her ‘The Master’ and get on with it. Worst case scenario, this all turns into another Clara is the centre of the universe story, just like the idiotic “Ponds” before. But, hopeful of a good, well written and performed story. Looking forward to it.

Prey Rassilon yes, cos like most fan’s, I don’t regard that Missy as the real Master, just an impostor who wants the Doctor to believe she is him.

This is a separate prequel then from ‘The Doctor’s Meditation’ that they’re showing in the US cinemas as that has Daniel Hoffmann-Gill in and was filmed at Caerphilly Castle. Also, is that Clare Higgins as Ohila? She looks different.

Yep, Clare Higgin’s in back as Ohila since ‘Night of the Doctor’ 2 years ago 🙂

Judging that the last time we saw her was when the Doctor was less than 900 years old in the Time War compared to being over 2,000 today, you’re bound to look a bit different during that time

So it is Karn… Well, we all already know the Doctor and that Sister of Karn are talking about the Master. I’m curious to know what enterprise they’re talking about. Turning the Daleks good? Finding Gallifrey? Or something else entirely?

But what if they aren’t talking about the Master? Remember that the Doctor and Master were friends once and knew each other well (and don’t forget the Master is a ‘she’ now). What if they are talking about Davros, for example? We know the Daleks are in this episode and that the master is a ‘she’ (Missy) not a ‘he’ in the episode (unless there are two incarnations involved).

100,000BC – Since the Doctor never said ‘She’ but ‘he’ during this prologue, he may not be referring to either Davros or the Master, he could in fact be referring too –

      MORBIUS

Because I’m sure it’s been said that there will be a returning villian who has not yet made an appearance in the new series, and old Morbius has not yet appeared in the new series, and that hooded character with horizontal lines over his case could for all we now be a Morbius in a new body made for him . . . . after all, he was executed, reborn and died on Karn when introduced years ago, and it is Karn we are seeing in the above prologue, so it makes sense to me.

Ooh, Morbius, I like that – but have you considered the possibility that it could be…

      SIL THE GIANT SLUG!

Well, neither have I, actually, but anything’s possible in Doctor Who 😉
