Episode One and Two are the series finale. Three through Twelve are the back story leading up to said finale. Now doesn’t that make a whole lot more sense than much of the other stuff you see and read throughout the Who Universe? 😉

Well, that boy in the trailer clearly IS Davros !! 😀

But will Davros, as we recognize him, be in the finale being played once more by Julian Bleach ?.

Now that is a good question, and sadly, I wish I had the answer, but I don’t have a Tardis to allow me to travel to Saturday 5th December 2015 which is the day episode 12 of series 9 will be aired, and it seems they are so keeping the finale underwraps because . . . . I believe that Gallifrey . . . . really IS . . . . . RETURNING THIS YEAR !! 😀

And if it does not return, then like many fan’s, I will demand Steven Moffat’s immediate resignation from Doctor Who as head writer and executive producer.

Doctor Who One, how is the little boy “clearly” Davros? Seriously?

      September 11th, 2015 - 3:41pm

Well it’s obviously when you thinking about it mate.

The rumour was that Davros would be seen as a child in episode 1 of series 9.

Episode 1 of series 9 is called ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’, and it features a young boy as seen in the very brief little trailer.

Put two and two together – CHILD DAVROS !! 😀

I hope radio times do their annual synopsis with steven moffat throwing in his whats to come teasers. He,ll know doubt try to throw us off the scent and keep us all guessing by wrong footing us all the way to the finale. Dont follow the spoilers, just speculation for the most part. More fun trying to work it out yourself.

I wonder if the inspiration for the eyes in hands in the wasteland was drawn from the film ‘pans labyrinth’.

To the person who has commented under the name “The Mire”. Where does inspiration for the name come from? It sounds like a alien or something from the show, but as far as i know, there has not been anything/anyone called that.

Its the name of the monster from the girl who died. Those large yellow robots.

Or it could be an acronym, describing the Doctor and Claras adventures: The Mission. Is. Really. Exciting 🙂

      September 12th, 2015 - 8:14am

Actually your both wrong. Its a classic monster and its full name is Mire Creature. Unless the Mires are put into robot suits of armor like humans and cybermen…

    • The Mire

      September 16th, 2015 - 12:36am

Actually TheDalekEmporor, it is you that is wrong, the name i used is just coincidentally related to the new monster. The Mire is each first letter of me and my cousins who are big fans of the show Tim Harry Ethan (the) Milly Isobel Ricky Emily.

It was just a pure coincidence about the monster. We were lookin at news about this series and my aunty (mum to a couple of them) noticed the letter thing, so i started using it as a username.

But i got to say, really like whovian192’s theory about the name, really inventive, so thanks whovian192

Having watched the trailer, there is something up with how Missy and grilled-steak faced man say the Doctor, Missy explains the disc thing is “the last will and testament of Doctor” and the man says “where is Doctor”. Neither call him “the Doctor”.

The boy in the new series 9 trailer for ‘The Magicians Apprentice’ clearly is Davros, and confirms the rumour about the Dalek creator appearing in series 9 to be true 😀

The gold Gallifreyan disk is called a confession dial, said by Missy to Clara to be the Doctor’s last will and testament . . . . but what is he confessing about I wonder . . . .

I’d imagine the hands with the eyes are not actually mutants hiding under the ground, but are in fact separate creatures consisting of just arms with heads that each have an eye, or . . . .

They are all part of one large mutant creature, and the arms with eyes on the hands are just tentacles of sorts, and only the ‘tentacle’ parts of the creature emerge from the ground to see around the surface above it, and it ends up having it’s tentacles surround the boy / Davros as it’s right underneath him.

I don’t see how the child is clearly Davros… there’s nothing that would distinguish him as Davros from any normal child, so really this confirms nothing

Well apparently there are snake creatures so maybe they are snakes with hands for heads with an eye on it

I think the snakes are supposed to be the badly-cgi’d dragons from trailer #2.

I’ve got a pretty good idea of what will hapen:
The child at the start of the new trailer is Davros, who The Doctor saves without realising it’s him, which affects The Daleks timeline somehow (stops him having accident somehow maybe?). This leads to the Daleks in the state they’re in in the trailers (multiple models together) in some timey-wimey disaster perhaps? This is what The Doctor’s hiding from, and maybe what freezes Earths’ skies, (leading to Missy and Clara looking for him).
I also agree with the theory that the deformed looking man asking for The Doctor is a Pre-Missy Master on Karn, meaning we’ll see a regeneration scene between them.
Of course this is just my theory, but it’s one I’m confident with! 😀

Hmm, I was hoping for a full on ‘This episode we will go to Skaro and have an adventure there for two episodes and then leave, giving the classic Daleks lots of time to do and say things’. But now i’m really confused as to just how they’re going to fit this all in.

“Where is the Doctor?” – Skaro is a sensible guess from the two trailers.

“the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force” – okay, interesting. It looks like there will be two separate (but probably linked somehow) stories going on.

“what is he hiding from?” – hiding from? Also interesting.

“past deeds come back to haunt him” – perhaps his decision in Genesis of the Daleks? Also, might link to what he said at the end of Deep Breath about mistakes.

“old enemies will come face-to-face” – we already know about the Daleks and Missy. Maybe Davros will make a return too.

“for the Doctor and Clara survival seems impossible” – nothing is impossible when the Doctor is around! 🙂
However, it sounds like Clara will be without the Doctor, but maybe with Missy. That could be interesting. Missy does meet a Dalek in one of the trailers, so might be on Skaro as well at some point.
