Doctor Who The Rings of Akhaten Trailer

Doctor Who The Rings of Akhaten Trailer

Saturday 6th April 6:15pm – 7pm BBC One

Having found himself a new companion in the shape of Clara Oswald, the Doctor asks where she wants to go first – and her request for somewhere awesome takes the pair to the rings of the planet Akhaten, inhabited by all manner of amazing creatures.

Clara meets the young queen, who is about to take part in a ceremony called the Festival of Offerings – but what begins as a happy sing-song soon turns very grim. Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman star.

Ok, now I sound like a tit regards comment about Sydney Newman. I assumed the leaf was a maple leaf, hence the day one Canadian connection. I was wrong.

I just noticed that the leaf on the Rings of Akhaten poster was not the one from the 101 places to see book, as it doesn’t have three points. If you look at the new gallery for the ROA, it looks like she is threatening something with it, as it is from a different world.

Hello folks, came across this site by pure accident. Liking what I am seeing so far. Yes, I am a newbie. I was born aprox 9 days before Jon Pertwee’s first appearance in Spearhead From Space. That makes me 43, I guess, lol.

The reason they use aliens that look human is because it is cheaper

    • Anonymous

      March 31st, 2013 - 3:26pm

And creepier, but the idea of them two examples is that they aren’t recognised, so that’s why they look like humans.

They look beautiful and creepy aswell, love it.

The way the Doctor’s face is so inconspicuous with the comic environment is amazing.

It makes the previous three titles look like, I dunno, the back of a cereal box or something.

I agree with you but the problem is that dr who is a family show thats how it makes it money if it became dark all of a sudden then children would not watch it, parents would coplane and stop there children watching it and the bbc would lose half its viewers. But other then that i would like dr who to be dark and gothic too

    • McGann is the Doctor.

      March 31st, 2013 - 11:17pm

They can’t all be alike, this story will be dark scary and exciting, and for once we will actually get to have a story ON AN ALIEN PLANET, WITH ALIENS.

Long overdue, given the show’s history.
