Elisabeth Sladen [1948-2011]

Elisabeth Sladen [1948-2011]

A picture is worth a thousand words… please feel free to print and circulate.
Andrew Skilleter

Tom Baker…

Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions. She can’t be dead. But she is: she died yesterday morning. Cancer.

You can read the full tribute Here.

Matt Smith…

“What struck me about Lis was her grace. She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who. And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely. I will miss her, as will the world of Doctor Who and all the Doctors that had the good pleasure to work with Lis Sladen and travel the universe with Sarah Jane.”

David Tennant…

I just can’t believe that Lis is gone. She seemed invincible. The same woman who enchanted my childhood, enchanted my time on Doctor Who and enchanted generations who have watched her and fallen in love with her – just like I did. I feel very honoured to have shared a TARDIS with Sarah Jane Smith, and I feel very lucky to have shared some time with Lis Sladen. She was extraordinary.

Russell T Davies…

“I absolutely loved Lis. She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis.”

Nicholas Briggs…

We are all so shocked and so very sad at the news of the death of Lis Sladen. Only yesterday I was filming a DVD extra in which I was talking with such heartfelt passion about how she was so ‘luminous’ on screen and how brilliant she was as Sarah Jane Smith.

Please bear in mind some comments on this site are from very young and upset people. This news as come as a great shock to many fans, old and new.

I believe Elisabeth is in Heaven now, watching down and seeing all these comments. Elisabeth Sladen, you will not be forgotten. You don’t look a day over 40!
Sarah Jane Smith will go down in history as the best companion of Doctor Who, because she was so fantastic at battling Sontarans, Slitheen, Bane, all of them. Sarah Jane, Elisabeth Sladen, you will be missed sorely by one and all.

I used to watch Sarah Jane when I was little when she was the Dr’s assistant. Now I really enjoy watching Sarah Jane with my step-daughters. Brilliant. Such a sad loss but her family must be so proud of her achievements. 🙁 xx

Sarah Jane never got to say a final goodbye to the doctor and that’s the saddest part.

It’s been about 3 months now I still watch SJA and forget she is no longer hear. Why can’t the progosers (spelling sorry) make one last one with the whole crew with Clyde rani and Luke together at a frunaral and do a propper tribute but end it on a high with a flash back, they could travel back with the doctor and look for one last time on what they all did (just an idear it would be soooooo lovely if that happened) otherwise kids will get confused they stopped theif fav program with non of the actors /actresses saying good bye .
    Who thinks the same?

It’s been 6 month and i’m still watching the SJA episodes. As it’s halloween week on CBBC, they have all the episodes playing back to back- it’s heaven, but on the other, still hard to get my head around it. I can’t believe she’s gone, lis was amazing and was my fav actress of all time! I still feel sad about her death, but I feel most for her family… her daughter is lucky with a mam like that! RIP Sarah Jane. RIP Lis Sladen, we love and miss you (and SJA!)
      Your in our hearts forever.

That would be brilliant. Maybe, just maybe, the people will see that comment and get one together. RIP Elisabeth Sladen, you will be remembered always. I watch SJA and think of the things she could do instead of what she can’t.
