Explosive New Trailer Now LIve

Matt Smith returns as the oldest time-traveller in the universe. The Time Lord, Amy and Rory are kidnapped by their oldest foe the Daleks and forced on a seemingly impossible mission – to enter the Asylum, a planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of the deadly aliens’ kind.

They need an escape route, and fast – but with an army of mad Daleks closing in, and the Ponds’ relationship in meltdown, it is up to the Doctor to save not only their lives but his friends’ marriage. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill co-star.

I know!!! I used to love Remembrance Of The Daleks until my brother (when he was three, however) got scratches all over the disc and now it freezes every time the disclaimer appears at the beginning. :\

Love this trailer!!!! Rory’s getting fired at and rolls to the floor! Can’t wait!! Also I love that they’ve used the majestic tale of a madman in a box!

And the paradigm dalek eye has changed it used to be orange and yellow (from the view they would see it from in victory of the daleks) it’s now clear and more RTD era

This waiting is intolerable! It’s been best part of a year since our last regular episode! Can’t wait! I wonder… Will the “classic” Daleks have CGI firing effects, or will the crew make them do the flicky thing out of the end of the gun and film in negative?

I’m sure they will use CGI for the classic Daleks, and make the screen go negative when using their guns.

Basically what I can make out from that trailer is that they are sending the doctor to Skaro via beams to kill and cleanse (blow them up) those insane of their kind in the Asylum.

I heard different and I thought the same as you, apparently the doctor is on Sukarno at the start and taken to the Dalek ship then to another planet called the asylum a snowy world

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      August 25th, 2012 - 8:16am

It can’t be Skaro, the planet was destroyed in the Time War, plus since when did Skaro ever look like Hoth from Star Wars : Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back ???? . . . .

    • Dr who

      August 25th, 2012 - 8:37am

The beginning is on skaro but the snowy planet is not skaro, but the doctor goes to skaro and I think it was time locked not blown up.

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      August 25th, 2012 - 10:03am

But it aint Skaro . . . . man don’t people ever follow the storylines ?.

    • dr who

      August 25th, 2012 - 2:11pm

you have not seen it yet plus this is steven moffat and things can change we thought gallifrey was gone but it returned, plus the time lock may have collapsed

    • dr who

      August 25th, 2012 - 2:13pm

and i said the snowy place is not skaro, but skaro does at the start where the doctor is taken by the daleks to there ship

    • dr who

      August 25th, 2012 - 2:17pm

here is the writing from the radio times

“The episode takes us to Skaro – the home planet of the Daleks – for the first time in the revived series. We’ve seen Gallifrey reimagined in other episodes, but never Skaro. And in fact, the CGI-made planet looks bleaker than you’ve ever seen it before. It also features an enormous Dalek monument and The Doctor slightly aghast at how the planet has fallen into ruin. It’s quite a treat for old and new fans alike!”from radio times

Here Boo Boo, that woman I recently mentioned that I found a picture off standing next to Matt’s Doctor inside SFX Magazine, it is not Toyah Wilcox, is an actress called Anamaria Marinca. Her character is called Darla Von Karlsen – an agent of the Daleks 😀

If you type in ‘Anamaria Marinca Doctor Who’, the picture of her with Matt appears right at the top on Google in images, standing on the left side of him in the picture.

    August 24th, 2012 - 11:01pm

Other than the Daleks (dont have a problem with the paradigm,”Power Rangers”, design but if it were really a hit then surely the whole point of them was to fully replace the Time War ones and not just have them as an officer class) and Cybermen the Weeping Angels.

Always cringed at description though of beings in series as “Monsters” instead of “Aliens” as I have always thought that that description juvenises unecessarily popular perceptions about the series.

A rock eating Horta that looks like a blob that can incinerate a man with it’s acid in “Star Trek” isn’t a monster-it’s an alien.

I remember that Star Trek episode your talking about, saw it a while back on CBS Action when they broadcast all 79 episodes digitally remastered.

Ive always called the Horta a giant baked Pizza due it it’s appearance, often joking ‘Oh look, another victim of the giant Pizza Monster !!!!’:D
