People get the rebooted universe as an excuse for the collective memory loss wrong all the time. When the universe was rebooted, so was everyone’s memory of all the last invasions. They all still happened and can be remembered. Death in heaven confirmed this when the cybermen incursion from Doomsday was referenced. There’s also the fact that UNIT produce a damaged cyber head from another previous invasion. They’ve got Slitheen arms, Cyber heads, Dalek weaponary etc. inside the black archive, as well as memory of the zygon attacks, Silurians etc.

There’s also the fact that series 4 and 5 of the Sarah Jane adventures ran alongside Doctor Who at a point after the universe was rebooted and their memories were all still intact of moments from before the rebooted universe, like the Judoon, Slitheen, Sontarans. I mean Sarah Jane and jo grant even used a bunch of memories of the doctor and previous earth incursions (including journeys end) to defeat the Shansheeth,

And then there’s Torchwood series 4 in which the events of children of earth are remembered worldwide despite the events occurring before the universe was rebooted

if the design does change a bit i would like it to be the time war daleks with the blue and silver classic design and the voices of the paradigm daleks.

How about a comprimise, the paradigm daleks in bronze/gold without the hunchback or back panel. The paradigm daleks are a logical evolution from the time war design and is generally more muscular and intimidating when in darker colours.

How about a compromise, the paradigm daleks in bronze/gold?
I am dying to see the paradigm daleks in action, I hope I don’t have to get compromising dirt on chibnal to get the paradigms in. You can even get rid of the back panel and hunchback and just have a basic dalek back, just please use the paradigms. The latest batch of bronze daleks are mishappen because of 3D printing used from sculpts of NSD2 prop. The neck braces going vertically look like they’re caving in to the horizontal rods and dome. The 3D printed props have got nothing on the original NSD batchs made by specialist models. Still the paradigms are more muscular, and are a logical evolution of the design, no nuts and bolts; cussac hated them.

Don’t,if I haven’t used up my comment quota, think its a redesign; think it’s because it’s been stuck on earth since the 9th century an older model of casing which would explain rumors that if they were appearing Chibnall was going for a retro look. Other question is does it get destroyed at the end or just picked up by the current New Empire Daleks after the seeming build up to a final showdown with Jodie and crew with a warning that their still out there and will be back.

I reckon just one Dalek terrorising the whole world. That would be great. I’m cool with a redesign to. Ideally I’d like to see the bronze Daleks, just silver with blue spots. Or a special weapons Dalek!
    I’m excited

After the “reboot” of the universe in Series 5 no one can remember these events. Daleks have not been on earth since.

Why do the human companions not seem to remember the Daleks and cybermem invasion of 2008 ? So you think they would have heard of Daleks ?

The Bronze Daleks are perfect and are a brilliant representation of what the Dalek should look like. They took the toilet plunger and a whisk and turned it into a menacing tank. To redesign them is just dumb . We’d reached the peak Dalek design after 40 years and now they’re gone. Hopefully there’s an uproar and they come back

For years fans have been saying that they are sick and tired of the Daleks appearing year after year.
And now we fans can’t wait to see them again.

Is it possible that Chibbers is a very clever man, and promised the BBC that he would reignite interest in the old foes, by having a full season starved of them?

I should be excited by this, with what has gone before during season 11 it leaves me with dread.

I just hope the Daleks are not defeated too easily. Chbnall has not got a great record has he!

I am so glad the Daleks are back and that they are still the most dangerous Doctor who aliens of all time. yes the Doctor always beats them but the Doctor can never get rid of them. they will always return and someone always dies because of them. I hope Chris Chibnall can write the Daleks in a way that reminds us all why we should be scared of them.

They’re obviously just teasing the return of the Pting. A Dalek will approach the gang, before it gets devoured whole by the true threat… the Pting!

You read it here first guys 😉

The last time the Daleks appeared in a New Years Day episode was ‘Day of the Daleks’ episode 1 in 1972.

Everything rides on this one episode Chibnall…You haven’t won me or many viewers over with your weak storytelling and agenda driven material in the latest series. This is your last chance Chibnall NOT to mess up. Otherwise myself and others will not be back for Series 12.

Cannot wait, just hope the Daleks can salvage an episode that’s almost definitely going to be dragged down by Ryan’s acting
