“…..When none can speak false or fail to answer….”

The Doctor does not speak, he answers in WRITING! He writes his name, in Galifreyan; which only he can read! (or possibly River as well). Satisfies the prophecy, technically justifies the title and the audience can keep guessing for the next fifty years!

Lets see if I was just as clever as Moffat!!

seems too easy. If you were asked a question, and couldn’t lie, the first thing you would do is voice the true answer, not think ‘Oh no, where’s a pen when you need one…’

Maybe it gets all Biblical, like when God reveals His personal name to Moses. ” I am, that I am; tell them I AM commands it!”
So, perhaps the Doctor is Yaweh or Jehova!

(Of course, if that IS it, anything but Silence will fall!!)

Revealing the Doctor’s name is probably the worst thing to do to keep the show alive… It’s survived for 50 years because of the secrecy, and revealing it for the anniversary would be like the ultimate last page. Don’t reveal it Moffat…

If I weren’t so worried about the whole revealing the name thing, I’d have spent time to say… I love the poster! Very mysterious, the doctor hidden in the smashed window. It looks really wonderful. The font is very nice with the time lord writing in it as well.

Exactly I do not want Clara or any other companion to not call him ‘Doctor’
If its not really going to be revealed they should put a question mark at the end of the title. Also he says that if his name is spoken then whole universes will collapse so if it is revealed then a whole lot of destruction will occur.

I think he is an god like figure who is master of his own destiny similer to the cartmell masterplan. I don’t like the idiwa of him being a madman with a box but a lonly god

I think that his name is just be Doctor Who, and here’s why I think that!

    1. In the underwater menace he gives note to Zaroff signed Dr W
    2. In the highlanders he calls him self Doctor von wer. (Doctor who in German!)
And 3. I think that it would do the show justice if it was named after him!!!!

I heard that someone in The Name of the Doctor, that the someone will kidnap all the Doctors friends and I think there kidnapping his friends to find out his name. So who wants to find his name out in Doctor Who then? Oh Yeah Madame Korvarian and the Silence wanted to know the truth didn’t they? I remember people were saying that she was still out there so could she and the Silence be back? You never know.

    • Anonymous

      April 19th, 2013 - 4:45pm

kovarian and the silence did’t WANT to know the truth, they wanted it to be kept a secret, thats why they were trying to kill him. They want it kept quite because they know that the question ‘Doctor Who?’ will be answered on the fields of trenzalore, and that answer will bring about the end of the universe, meaning the end for the silence

Do not say it, do not whisper it, do not allude to it. Let him just be the “mad man with a box”. A Fifty year old mystery should remain just that: A Mystery”! Just be a Time Lord, and “seldom interfere with affairs of others “. I do not want to sit with a cushion over my face and cotton wool stuffed in my ears at the risk of anything shattering the years of enjoyment. I’m going to find somewhere to go and be childish again now.

Don’t panic, they won’t reveal his name, after all he didn’t die in series 6, really “marry” River and we didn’t meet his “wife”. It’s probably referring to the Doctor’s friends fighting in his name or something like that.
