Never heard of her, good luck but I must admit I’m a bit disappointed. Typical p.c BBC and Chris Chibnall has just built himself a mountain to climb.

The Christmas Special isn’t the problem. It’s the afrtermath at the end of it with the “regeneration”.

It’s like Moffat’s saying to the fans “Here you are folks, I’ve brought the 1st and 12th Doctor’s together at Christmas, to bookend and bring closure to the male Doctors…It’s all female from now on!”

So as a long term fan and a mature adult you should know that unlike real life characters, the doctor is a fictional alien. His species can change from gender to gender and from skin colour to skin colour. Therefore there is ZERO argument that stands up for the doctor remaining as a white male – maybe its a generational thing?

Maybe you are right, older ones are more wise.

I’m hoping for a new portrayal of the character which, while having hints of her previous incarnations (same person after all), gives something new to the role other than a change of gender.

Make or Break time for Doctor Who. I certainly wish her all the best, and maybe for a series over 50 years old it needs a different direction. It certainly opens the scope of the series to a wider remit. That might not be a bad thing.

Just BBC pic rubbish, I knew it was coming, it’s great the BBC tick theirs boxes, I think they’ve missed a few. Terrible decision. Won’t be watching, I’ve watched from John pertwee, but not anymore. Bet Sherlock Holmes is next, or should that be sheryl Holmes

Wow, she had no dialogue at all and about 10 seconds of dialogue give the woman a change look at how everyone criticized Missy and now she’s adored, same with Bill and now she’s adored this could be the same. She’s got an enormous weight on her shoulders now the least you could do is give her a chance

Because a woman is the Doctor? Seriously? I can sort of understand an opposition to a female Doctor but come on, now it has been announced, give her a chance. She could give a fantastic portrayal of the Doctor! Only time will tell.
