Matt Smith Karen Gillan win Television Awards

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan have both won at the National Television Awards.

At tonight’s national television awards Matt Smith beat Torchwood star John Barrowman to win the award for outstanding male drama performance.

Karen Gillan won the award for the most outstanding female drama performance.

Doctor Who lost out in the most popular drama category to Downton Abbey

    Well Done Matt And Kazza,Both well deserved,theyve worked their socks off since the start of series 5 and never stop bringing oustanding performances, so glad when their names were read out,and i voted for them both as well

    Great to hear this news.
    Matt (Mathew) Smith has been acting with terrific passion and with excellent results in the latest series, and this award atleast proves that.

    Even if he didn’t get the award, I still think he was great. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      downtown abby is on it’s 2ed seson now so not rilly new but it is very good but not as good as doctor who ofcorce. but good Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.

      It was a misquote, it’s happened several times now on this very subject. After he films this series he is going to Hollywood to do some work before coming back to do the 50th anniversary series.

    I guess it’s better than winning nothing at least it shows the public still has interest in Doctor Who. I heard its Matts last Season .
