And The New Companion Is – Jenna-Louise Coleman
Jenna-Louise Coleman has been officially confirmed as the new companion to take over from Karen Gillan when she leaves the show sometime during series Seven.
From The BBC…
Her first episode will be the Xmas special.
There will be 6 episodes this year, including the Xmas Special. Then 8 next year. Jenna’s character will first be seen at Xmas.
Steven Moffat “Amy & Rory will leave in a final encounter with the Weeping Angels in ep 5. Not everyone gets out alive and I mean it this time
The Daleks will be returning in the autumn series (Doctor Who Magazine)
Jenna-Louise was born in Blackpool and played Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale. She has been nominated for numerous awards in recent years including “Best Newcomer” “Best Actress” “Sexiest Female” and “Best Dramatic Performance”.
Her most recent appearance will be as Annie Desmond in Julian Fellowes four part mini-series Titanic.
Bigger on the Inside
March 21st, 2012 - 6:58pmi have a great theory (well i think it is anyway):
the weeping angels will send amy and rory back in time so they sort of die but not actually, like rose did
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
March 21st, 2012 - 8:13pmthats what i think too
Bigger on the Inside
March 22nd, 2012 - 4:15pmForgot to mention that they could be sent to where melody pond is in America as then they can bring her up themselves as I think is isnt very good that Amy and Rory have a child and lose them, especially on a family show
the astronaut of death
March 21st, 2012 - 6:49pmthis is off the subject a tiny bit .but i think the 11th doctor will regenerate in the 50th annerversery

March 21st, 2012 - 7:08pmmatt smith said he was gonna stay along time
the TARDIS
March 21st, 2012 - 6:13pmNot happy. I know Moffat said that there would be no Who until autumn, but I reeeeaaally hoped that the theories about series 7 split over two years would come out false. You’ve let us down, BBC…
the astronaut of death
March 21st, 2012 - 6:15pmi know but at least half way through that gap we have go a xmas special
Radburn
March 21st, 2012 - 6:03pmLook at the ‘Death’ of a character with Donna Noble: She didn’t really die it was the ‘Death’ of that personality. I wouldn’t get hung up on the ‘Death’ angle…
the astronaut of death
March 21st, 2012 - 5:36pmi think sothing is going to happen witch will make amy and rry not to do it anymore
booboo
March 21st, 2012 - 5:01pmQuote form Steven Moffat
“Who she’s playing, how the Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.”
almost sound like we have met her before
the astronaut of death
March 21st, 2012 - 5:37pmmaby she is a time lady
sheepinafez
March 21st, 2012 - 6:19pmi hope its susan it might be aswell as its the 50 year thing next year
Bigger on the Inside
March 22nd, 2012 - 4:17pmShe could be Jenny, the doctors daughter as at the end she said something about it isn’t the last time he meets her and he will have to meet her again soon or she will have been forgotten about
Who agrees?
Anonymous
March 22nd, 2012 - 7:23pmJenny was kept alive at the personal request of Moffat as a back up plan in csae whoever would be eventually cast as Amy Pond left after one series and he needed another explanation for who River Song was.

March 21st, 2012 - 4:49pmim really gonna miss karen gillan shes been my favourite companion evar if rory and amy are killed i will not be happy
booboo
March 21st, 2012 - 4:51pmSteven Moffat has said someone will die for real this time
timelord3
March 21st, 2012 - 4:54pmhe just said somebody wil die. he didnt actually say it would be amy and rory…but it probbably is
sheepinafez
March 21st, 2012 - 4:54pmbut it cant be rory or amy im sure he wouldnt do that they might get complaints the characters are way to popular with all ages today to kill them off
booboo
March 21st, 2012 - 4:57pmcould be a friend or relative , makes them realise they cant do this anymore and they leave heartbroken
sheepinafez
March 21st, 2012 - 5:00pmi hope they have a nice send off nothing to sad
Bow tie of Doom
March 21st, 2012 - 5:01pmOne good theory that I’ve heard is that the Doctor finds out that Amy killed Madame Kovarian and, even though it was in an alternative timeline, turns his back on her and sends her and Rory home.
the TARDIS
March 21st, 2012 - 6:19pmI know that most people want the Ponds to stay with us, but I do think that big, emotional exits are far more effective than just suddenly leaving at the end of an episode. Deaths are very effective – killing off Adric actually made people care about him, and with such popular companions as the Ponds would, if done well(which it will be, being written by Moffat) could be brilliant. My only problem would be it is a story mid-way through a series, which means we are not left on it for a long time to feel sad until the Doctor returns.
timelord3
March 21st, 2012 - 4:46pmIt makes sense that amys (and rorys) last episode has weeping angels in it because in the god complex amys room had weeping angels in it.

Bow tie of Doom
March 21st, 2012 - 4:45pmYeah, I was a little shocked that’s all. So what month exactly could Series 7 begin?
booboo
March 21st, 2012 - 4:47pmif its one continuous series then it has to be November – there is nothing at the moment which says any of this will be part of the 5oth anniversary
Anonymous
March 21st, 2012 - 7:03pmApparently Steven Moffat has confirmed that it will be the series after this that includes the 50th anniversary, although how it will work is of course completely unknown.
Although there is an advantage to this type of broadcasting, we can estimate that the show will be returning about the 17th of November.
timelord3
March 21st, 2012 - 4:29pmit says on the official website that the doctor meets her in a dramatic turn of events. wonder what it is. heres some off my ideas:
Shes a robot
She kills amy and rory
Shes susan
Shes Romana 3
Any one else got any ideas
the astronaut of death
March 21st, 2012 - 4:39pmi dont think she will kill amy and rory because it said on another website moffat said amy and rory’s last episode will be episode 5 and there last monster will be the weeping angles
and the new compaingion first apperence is in the xmas special so by then amy and rory would have alredy left
booboo
March 21st, 2012 - 4:42pmThey will get turned to stone by the angels and be left to be together for ever as statues – i can see it coming.
timelord3
March 21st, 2012 - 4:42pmOh yeah i forgot about that. but what about the other ideas?

March 21st, 2012 - 5:25pmI thought the angels sent you back in time – to quote the Doctor..
“The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death.”
Nice thought though…suitably dark for my taste 🙂

March 21st, 2012 - 11:30amThe good news: That this was published in the lunchbreak so I could spend a 10 minuts to find out what the h… their thinking about.
The bad news: Its only bad news…. Seems like they just thinking “we never going to top Karen anyway, so lets just find someone who makes the Doctor look good and dont steal all the attention.”
But this is just my reaction. And I know that redheads/blondes with a decent height just like ms. Gillan is just my type of girls. After all, it has a few benefits to watch DW with a partner who can identify herself with ms. Gillan. But his girl? No offence, but I probably wouldnt noticed her at all. And I’m afraid that the comments at home will be even less flattering. So this is bad, bad news….

March 21st, 2012 - 11:04amwith her being from Blackpool may be she’ll be a Luice Miller type of companion for TV… or just another Alien with a northern accent… Haha ha…

March 21st, 2012 - 12:15pmI don’t know her either. But DW is generally spot-on with casting, so I suspect she’ll bring something good and unique to the show.
Well hopefully. :p

March 21st, 2012 - 10:37amThe fact she’s listed as ‘sexiest female’ doesn’t boost my confidence – sorry to be a bore but I prefer companions who are more than just a pretty face – like all the companions in Tennants era for example!
