    Ok. I’m American and have basically no clue how the proms work. I just happen to be in London on that date. How early should I queue? Should I queue for the arena or the pit? I’m assuming since we’re waiting for hours we’re allowed to have bags with us.

      Hi,

      To L Hughes- that’s great, I wanted second tier more though.

      To Anonymous- Hello, it does not particularly matter where you stay overnight as you can just take the Tube to a hotel. However, people start queuing for a standing space rather early. I think there’s only a few terminals though, so the wait would be rather long. You might have to be in the area, and be at the terminal once their blinds open! 🙂

    Sorry to all those who didn’t get any tickets. Me, my dad and my mum got tickets to go, but they were the very last few and we were trying for hours. I really do feel sorry for those who tried, as I know how hard you did try (as hard as we did), but I can’t wait to go! missed out in 2010 so can’t wait for this!

      If you got their early enough in the queue a couple of hours before it started. It depends how busy it will be.

      May 14th, 2013 - 1:43pm

      I queued for arena tickets on the day, from about 9/10 in the morning (one or two people camped out overnight!). The queue started building up pretty steadily after I got there. I think it’ll be even busier at it’s the big 50th anniversary Doctor Who prom – so I definitely wouldn’t leave it to a few hours before the event!

      (I’m doing it this year again, wouldn’t miss it for the world)

    • C Lyons

      May 14th, 2013 - 1:45pm

      Oh also, you can’t get into the centre stalls from the arena. The arena is an enclosed space. But you do have the chance, if you’re near the front of the queue, to be within a few metres of the stage!

    FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DIDN’T GET TICKETS READ ON… the only reason we didn’t get tickets was coz the proms were sending hundreds of tickets to other sites for more the amount of normal tickets, that’s why so many people didn’t get tickets!!!

      No, spent 3 hours continuously on the phone (took 40mins once through holding waiting for next sales person) / internet from 9.am, could have got 2 tickets but that would mean leaving people out so wont go at all, they obvious totally underestimated demand and 2 proms simply inst enough there will be 1000’s of disappointed people

      Same for 2 Hours Mi Dad And I Tried To Get 3 Tickets But Once We Got To Booking They Said It Was Sold Out But Then 15 Minutes Later It Said There Was 3 Tickets Available So We Went To Book Them It Said We Had 30 Minutes To Get Them Or We Would Lose Them So Mi Dad Signed Up, Put All His Details In To Book Them And We Had Like 20 Minutes Left To Book Them, So We Pressed Continue And The Booking Office Removed Them For Our Basket And Told Us That Both Proms Were Sold Out.

      I Am Very Disappointed With The Booking System For The Proms And Will Think Twice About Buying Tickets Off Them Again

    • DoctorArkham

      July 5th, 2013 - 7:30pm

      @The Doctor in Hemsworth

      that is appalling. They should have reserved your seats for you to buy unless your Dad said otherwise. My Dad had to go on by phone and the proms representative told him that he would lose connection on a telephone very quickly. So he stood in a premier Inn car park for 30 mins before he was finally allowed to book tickets. And we got em.
