Rigsy Returns and The 12th Doctors New look

From the official site…

Filming has begun on episode 10 of the new series of Doctor Who and Joivan Wade, who played Rigsy in last year’s Flatline, is back! The episode is directed by Justin Molotnikov and written by Sarah Dollard whose previous credits include Being Human and the BBC’s acclaimed spy drama, The Game.

Sarah commented, ‘Getting to play in the Doctor Who toy box is a dream come true. It’s a total honour to contribute to a show that has brought me such joy as a fan. However, writing for Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman has presented a serious problem: some days I’ve been too excited to actually sit down and type!’

12th-new

Watch an interview with Sarah Dollard about writing series 9, episode 10.

The episode sees the return of Joivan Wade as Rigsy, the young graffiti artist who helped save the world in Flatline. He’ll be reunited with the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) in this new adventure although how and why he finds himself mixed up with the time traveling heroes is currently under wraps!

The guest cast for the new series includes Maisie Williams, Michelle Gomez, Rebecca Front, Rufus Hound, Paul Kaye and Jaye Griffiths.

The BBC Cymru Wales produced drama will return to BBC One this Autumn with further casting to be announced.

My biggest hope for this season is Danny Pink, I just watched all of season 8 in like 2 days and still cry every time. Like you know the bracelet Clara has, that could transport one person from one place to another, maybe that is beeping and it beeps a certain amount of times which equals co-ordinates. This leads them to a gateway with a spot to put the bracelet, thus causing Danny to appear from the gateway. And all becomes well in my little perfect world.

So Peter Capaldi has a new coat then….. So no sign of a regeneration? Damn it 🙁

Daleks, Cybermen, Ice Warriors, Weeping Angels, i really do not care, just regenerate! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine is this: Capaldi just isnt The Doctor!

Maybe series 9 will change my mind, hopefully it does, but until then, just no! If only Clara wasnt lying when she told the Cybermen in D.I.H that she was the Doctor.

One more thing, it would be amazing if they could use the same tech as they did with Paul Walker in Fastb7 with Lis Sladen, it would be amazing to see Sarah-Jane Smith in Doctor Who again 🙁

Clara?! The same Clara who, now she can’t gently manipulate the Doctor, threatens violence, commits violence & ,worst of all, fully intended to forever separate the Doctor from the only entity who is constant in his life. I’m not surprised the TARDIS doesn’t like her (I had thought that was the impossible girl stuff as an anomoly in time). My biggest hope for this season is that something is done about her control issues. If this could be done via the telepathic interface all the better, ‘cos I’d love to see Idris again.
In my opinion Peter Capaldi IS the Doctor & this regeneration makes the most sense in a line of regenerations from the war doctor onwards which all make a kind of sense if you think about the causes of regeneration.

So is Paul Walker. I think anon’s point is that he had films released after his death, but I can only assume there was some relevant footage to work with. I think we will, sadly, have to be content with the final words of the Sarah Jane Adventures…

I would not be the least unhappy if Peter Capaldi was still the Doctor for the 60th anniversary. Until deep breath, Tom Baker was my fave Doctor – he started the year I was born & was the first Doctor I watched. Doctor 12 has changed me from a slightly obsessed fan of the new show to a Who geek.( Not a Whovian, that implies sociability. I only found this site nosing around for news & have discovered an unusual inclination to share my thoughts.)

I thought Rory “dying” in angles take manhatten cleared out the weeping angels on earth. I mean when he jumped off the roof. Wasn’t the one that took him & Amy the last? Or was that just the angels in new york?

Don’t forget they were in Time of the Doctor, so the Weeping Angels can always come back…

Yes that’s true but it was trenzalore. I don’t dispute the possibility of angels, I was just wondering about the implication of this planet. Still, a space faring race & all (well stowaways), I suppose they could be back on earth.

Remember in the classic era, up to the 1980s, nearly every story was set on an Alien planet.

There’s a thought. Star map or maybe dimension map for Gallifrey. That could explain Rigsy too if the map is incomplete or needs restoration or something like that. Or maybe he’s just caught up in the madness again.

I love the Twelfth Doctor’s new look. Very Pertwee, perhaps even more so than before. And Rigsy returning? That’s good. I liked him, and I liked Flatline. I wonder if he’s going to be the Craig Owens or Professor Travers of Peter Capaldi’s era.

Wait a minute. What happened to “why have you got two jackets is one of them faulty”? Ha. Doctor hypocrite. Am almost sick with anticipation for new series. I cannot love death in heaven & last christmas as much as the rest of series 8 (no matter how I try) but that does not change the fact Doctor 12 is my favorite doctor ever. As for Rigsy, maybe if Clara isn’t impersonating the doctor this time, she might be able to give him more consistent attention. Poor lad was so proud to show off his art & she barely looked at it.

I mentioned this story, along with a link, on this site yesterday in the ‘Ask A Question’ feature before BooBoo made this story featuring the above pictures.

So I’m just jokingly saying that I’ve not not been thanked by BooBoo for sharing the news that Capaldi’s Doctor has a brand new jacket that looks very 3rd Doctor-ish.

VELVET! He’s wearing VELVET! Oh My God! So we’ve had a hint of the first three doctors in 12’s costume for this new series: Check trousers very much in the same style as Doctors 1 & 2 and now a velvet jacket like 3… I wonder if he’ll wear a cravat or tartan waistcoat soon to match with 4…?

Perkins? I know he was set up in the story to be a bit suspect but… I’m still suspicious. I think he was playing his cards close to the chest, to use his phrase, right up ’til the end. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a villain but I do think there might be a secret or two there.

Majestic now actually means something (with regards to the coat). The obvious plump is for the boneless to return, but I assume there will be some other, new awesomeness, an emerging trend I expect that will characterise the new series. Rigsy could be a really good character to develop as long as we don’t get too carried away…
