Tardis Crash lands on London’s Parliament Square

TARDIS crash lands on London’s iconic Parliament Square ahead of Doctor Who series launch

In an explosive return to the UK from their world tour, the Doctor, Peter Capaldi, and his companion Clara Oswald, played by Jenna Coleman, made a surprise appearance this morning at the site of a specially constructed crash-landed TARDIS on London’s Parliament Square.

Ahead of the eighth series, returning to BBC One this weekend, the theme of the crashed time machine was in keeping with the feature-length opening episode, entitled Deep Breath, which sees the Doctor arrive in Victorian London to find a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions.

In front of the TARDIS and through the debris of dinosaur bones, the show’s transmission date can be seen emblazoned in the grass: Saturday 23 August. Deep Breath airs at 7.50 PM.

He’s been around for about 30 years (including a role in series 4 of Who). Worth searching him out on IMDB to se an overview of his impressive credentials….

I’d stay at home you may get people talking or applauding and you may miss a line or two

I’ve watched in the cinema and re watched at home. Way more impressive on a screen the size of 2 double decker buses… The audience are fans too, so kept very quiet (apart from applause at the end) and we got an new feature from Strax giving an over view of how regeneration (or deterioration) goes wrong, the Doctor Who extra programme straight after the main feature and a 30 minute live feed from London with an interview panel of Capaldi, Coleman and Moffat. A good reason to see it in the flicks, I think.
(Having said that, even in full cinema surround sound, the new theme arrangement still sounds like it was played on a set of demonic high pitched bagpipes…)

I was there last week, standing at this place exactly, on Parliament Square. One week later, and I’d have the luck to meet the new Doctor himself ! It’s too sad 🙁

Lovely pics; reminds me of the second film from the 60’s. Why do these things happen when I’m out paying my bills?

I ask the same thing ever time !!.

Well, in my case it’s “Why does nothing like this ever happen to me when I’m in London ? !!” 🙁

Doctor Who One : Perhaps we’re out of sync, as in the 50th show, and we were there but we can’t remember it as it’s not allowed.
