The Cast Introduce The Angels Take Manhattan

The Cast and Execs Introduce The Angels Take Manhattan

As we prepare to say farewell to Amy and Rory, the cast and Execs discuss their departure.

Almost time to let go?

Saturday will be a historic day for Doctor Who and an emotional one for its viewers as we bid a heart-breaking farewell to Amy and Rory, played by Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill. To celebrate their time on the show and to mark the end of an era, we’ll have special programme, The Last Days of the Ponds, available straight after The Angels Take Manhattan finishes.

The Last Days of the Ponds is a touching, 12 minute video that features Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, head writer and Executive Producer Steven Moffat and Executive Producer Caro Skinner. Poignant and insightful it tells their story, from the very start to the teary goodbyes.

With exclusive backstage material from their early days together right up to behind-the-scenes footage of their final shots, The Last Days of the Ponds gives you unprecedented access to an era of Doctor Who, but more than this, it reveals how the people involved feel about their characters and their friends, their time on the show, what they’ll miss and remember and how Amy and Rory’s swansong moved them all.

Karen, Arthur and Matt recall meeting each other for the first time and share anecdotes about their friendship. What did they think of each other at first and what did Arthur consider to be a nightmare? Which days does Karen call the craziest of all, and how was Matt feeling when it came to shooting the Ponds’ departure?

The laughter, tears, heart-break and joy are all captured forever in The Last Days of the Ponds.

The Last Days of the Ponds will be available here, immediately after Saturday’s episode.

I was slowly getting annoyed by Amy, but I wasn’t getting annoyed of Rory and River.

There’s nothing wrong with Amy and Rory, it’s their irritating daughter River Song that needs to go !.

What a sad video. The ponds have been amazing companions to the 11th doctor(my doctor) but i would have liked them to all leave together like the 2nd doctor, zoe and jamie did. It’s going to be a upsetting episode i think no matter what age you are, and i’m sure i’ll shed a tear.

It’s a sketch of the Tenth Doctor’s TARDIS as we saw it in The Eleventh Hour. 🙂

Steven Moffat said that the end of the Ponds will not mean the end of River Song.

If Amy and Rory do get killed off in this Saturday final episode before the Christmas Special, then look on the bright side, there has not been a companion death in Doctor Who in 30 years in Matthew Waterhouse’s Adric got blown up on that Freighter heading back in time to Earth during the age of the Dinosaurs, so it’s about time there was a companion death rather then being lead to believe that a companion is ment to do die [like Rose or Donna] but instead they live cos the writers just can’t kill them off.

Pity they couldn’t have killed off moan-a-lot Martha Jones, that would have really made my day 😀

Still, whatever happens to Amy and Rory, at least they’ve been BRILLIANT !!!! 😉

If anyones wondering why I called Martha moan-a-lot, it’s simple, she just keeped on nagging as if she was not special, for example –

“Oh she was blonde, oh what a surprise !” 😛

“You had to go a fall in love with a human, and it wasn’t me!” 😛

      “Oh my god . . . he found you . . . . DAMN IT !!!!” 🙁

Nag Nag Nag Nag Nag. I feel sorry for Mickey, his married to her 🙁

but adric wasn’t the best, amy and rory are my favourite new series companions so i will be sad to see them go, i bet amy dies and rory lives for a change, i don’t like the idea of him dieing Again!

Never said Adric was the best [he was an annoying irritating prat 😀 ]

Amy and Rory have both died anyway back in Series 5. Rory died first by being shot and then erased from history, and then his Auton duplicate shots Amy dead.

But if they do die, then ’till death us do part’ or whatever that last bit is people always say at weddings.

Amy Williams – The ULTIMATE Ginger 🙂

Rory Williams – The ever loyal Roman Centurion . . . . even if it means being slapped by the misses 😀

I have heard and read, that apparently “if you think you know what happens to the ponds, think again” so maybe it’s a surprise and we won’t expect it, and as every one thinks they die, maybe they don’t!
