Just completed it!!! The Gunpowder Plot has been my favourite Adventure Game so far, it had a good storyline, let us play as Rory (YAY!!!), and it seemed to last longer, I don’t like a game I can complete quickly. I saw two of the Silence, and might play it again to try and find more.

go to the drain at the bottom of the wall. open it then when balck rod closes it walk up to him and then take off the device on his neck. rory and black rod will then have to sneak past the sontarans which isnt really much of a challenge but it’s a great stealth challenge.

I posted this below in response to someone else’s comment, but I doubt anyone will see it anytime soon. πŸ™

So, I’m at the part where the Doctor’s just shot the cannon through the wall to help Fawkes, and then Amy and Rory are trying to run back to the TARDIS. My problem is I can’t seem to run fast enough to get away! The third clump of falling rubble always gets me. I see in all the video walkthroughs that Amy and Rory make it to a crossway of two halls/tunnels and stop to catch their breath, but I can’t even get to there! I’m holding down the down arrow on the keyboard the entire time, even while Rory is still talking in the cutscene at the beginning of that section, but Amy just keeps going slower and slower until she falls down backward into the third collapse! Does anyone have any suggestions or know what I’m doing wrong???

When you get to the bit where you have to follow Fawkes to help him, as soon as the video ends, turn around. There’s this thing that was used for torturing people (can’t remember what it’s called), get the fact from that and a Silent appears. Don’t know if you got that one last time, but if not, hope this helps!

Yeah, I JUST found my first Silent by the Tyburn Tree. Why would a Silent be tellnig you about the real Gunpowder Plot afterall? πŸ˜›

Wait, how did you guys talk to the Silent? I’ve seen it/them twice, once down in the drain system on the way out from the Rutan ship, and once on the way up to get the rod from the clock tower, and I tried to talk to it both times but couldn’t get it to highlight at all.

    • pupbenny

      November 10th, 2011 - 2:36pm

It’ll highlight the fact in purple as it usally does. If there’s a silent by/on the fact just press to read the fact again and it talks to it.

I have praised the game for it’s gameplay, graphics and it’s educational purposes but I have a lot of problems with the game:
1.) Finish the game PROPERLY before releasing it.
2.) Rorys character model looked ok bit could have been better. I hated field major kaarshs character model though. It made me cringe!
3.) This is probably very small but because I seem to notice lots of things I’d like to ask what were the series 5 TARDIS railings doing there?
    Rant over!

How many games are there going to be? I heard two yet I’m wondering whether the number of eps will be increased. If the next one is the finale then I hope the silents do not feature. Their involvement in the game only looked as if they were there to show their knowledge of mankind which was a good feature.

I completed the game on thursday morning before school. It was amazing! Best one since blood of the cybermen(not saying the other two were bad though). It was great to play as rory. The sontarans and the rutans were amazing and the puzzles and challenges were toned down to an easier level. Overall it was brilliant and amazing and words can’t describe it’s awesomeness. πŸ˜€

The Silence featured as an ‘Easter Egg’ in this game. The reason it said that at the end is because it probably wants people to replay it. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if the Silence featured in more Adventure Games.

I agree that this game was definetly the best so far – sealing those lesions took me a while though and I had to keep starting over. Apart from that I though it had good graphics, a nice and long gameplay and the only other bad thing was that the load screen took forever and the image of the doctor standing next to Guy Fawkes did not look like matt smith at all. I hope they make a new adventure game where it is all about the silence. It would be cool aswell, if in some of the future non silence related episodes of doctor who on the telly, there would be the occasional glimpse of the silence. πŸ˜€
