What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship?

What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The second episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo … of dinosaurs!

By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers, a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else on board who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was a really good episode, with the supporting charatcers of –
    Queen Nefertiti
    John Riddell
    Soloman
    Tricy
    Brian Williams
    Robots
The only ‘bad’ supporting character or characters for this episode was of course the robots who had absolutly no meaning in this episode but to – be annoying, get shouted at, shoot at the Doctor, yell, have hissy fits and kill Tricy only to be really badly cast off at the end, the revealing of the ship being a Silurian Ship was good continuity, and the comedy in the episode was amazing it was one of the funniest Doctor who episodes ever! Tricy was an amazing touch to the episode and when he died Chibnall nearly made me cry, i actually kinda did, the dinosaurs in the episode were amazing and the Veliocerators at the end wer amazing. Rupert Graves did an excellent job at acting Riddell even though he didn’t do to much, David Bradley was amazing as Soloman, Mark Williams was absolutly stunning as Brian and Riann Steele was great at acting Nefertiti.
Overall I rate this episode 8/10, the only thing letting it down was the robots and the quick cast off of the Robots.

I’m loving the look and feel of the new series BUT the annoying background music spoils it for me 🙁

I’ve actually enjoyed both of them so far. I thought ‘Asylum…’ was a good Dalek story (apart from the Rory/Amy side-plot) and didn’t really jar too much with established mythology (certainly no more than any classic series Dalek episodes) and ‘Dinosaurs…’ was a solid, fun episode although ultimately forgettable in the grand scheme.

Can’t wait to see the back of Amy and River – last season just revolved too much around them – but I’d keep Rory, especially if his dad came along!

Actually the insignia says ISA ; as in India/ International Space Agency/Authority?

The personel also include an oriental looking woman and a woman in Islamic dress.

So maybe it’s supposed to be the most populated part of the planet (Asia) now very advanced economically and technologically and now in the driving seat of global affairs.

After all in the here and now both India and China harbour ambitions to have more of a presence in space.

“Oh, I’m a very emotive man.”

Quite possibly my favourite scene in the episode. Brilliant performances from Matt Smith and David Bradley.

it was better than episode one,the robots were very funny and i was supprised to know that robert webb and david mitchell were the voices of the robots. the dinosaurs were good and rory’s dad was funny too, can’t wait for his return in episode 4, episode 3… i’m not a fan of western type films and tv programmes but the cyborg looks like a good villan but really can’t wait for episode 5, like to see how that ends. 😀 8.5/10

Dinosaur’s On A Spaceship was not to my tastes at all. Terrible. One of the worst episodes.
A shame, as Asylum Of The Daleks was not too bad at all, and started the season off well……Such is life.

For me, good drama, threat, and tackling an issue that is a problem in the world, with the piracy, were lost with awful comedy, too many characters that didn’t need to be in it and bland action sequences. This certainly not a pop at the writers, producers et al, just my own personal thoughts on this particular episode.

Nobody seems to be picking up on the fact that the missiles as part of Earth’s defence came seemingly from India.

The personel were all Indian & their uniform caps said IDF;as in India Defence Force?

Are we to infer in the time set that India is now the top dog in the world; i.e most powerful superpower also taking on the responsibility of Earth’s defence from percived attacks from space?

Or is it supposed to be a subtle reference to sending out things like call centres to other countries?

Everyone should be a bit more savy by now about characters in sci-fi being necessarily killed off for good.

Dont be too suprised to ever learn if he somehow actually survived to tangle with the Doctor again.

am i the only one who hated this ep. it was silly and stupid. everyone has been saying it was great and funny. but dr who is not a comedy its a drama but steven moffat wants it to be a drama and comedy and thriller and romance and chick flick. its all packed in to one show and it makes its stupid. AND THE ROBOTS….NO JUST NO I COULD NOT WATCH AS IT MAGE ME CRIGE ALL THE WAY. i think its sad to say that it took russle t davis 6 years to build up what he did and it took steven moffat 2 years to take that way.

please reply i want to know what u think.

I <b<LOVED this episode, only one thing dissapointed me though – one of the postcards at the end had the 9th/10th doctors TARDIS on it not 11th’s. However if this is the only thing i disliked then it must have been a brilliant episode! 😀 David Mitchell and Robert Webb were hillariou as the robots, and i love the golf ball joke in it!

A bit of a improvement from last week, but was clever for a short time. It was really silly because of annoying robots and dinosaurs acting like dogs. Lack of dinosaurs too. 7/10 And Commander Strax has a new name! Mr Evil Fez!

Whilst watching it, I knew something about it didn’t sit right. It just didn’t feel… appropriate after Asylum of the Daleks, and then it clicked – it all felt a bit too childish, it was very CBBCish and the innuendo felt completely out of place. It was all horribly rushed as well – the characters didn’t have time to develop, and anything that did develop just felt… faked. With an extra 10 or 15 minutes of running time, it could have been so much better, but it was great as it was. If you go into this episode after watching the Sarah Jane Adventures, then you’re certain to get something out of it, even if it’s a few cheap laughs.

Well bothered me about it was Queen Nefertiti, she seems to not be bothered in asking what a spaceship is or anything as if it’s normal for a woman to see in ancient Egypt as it is for us in the modern world to see planes flying high above our heads in the sky.

I certainly did not expect that ship to belong to the Silurians, they kept that bit very quiet.

I didn’t think Silurians even had spaceships thou, as Ive always known them to have originated here on Earth and they ended up going into hibernation underground cos they thought the Earth was going to be hit by an asteroid or something, but turned out to be our Moon.

Their were problems with the episode but I found it enjoyable and the cast were brillint. The CGI on the dinosaurs sometimes did work and didn’t but if anyone has scene Invasion of The Dinosaurs the models were great but the movements are terrible but CGI dinosaurs I think people should be greatful about it and thats my opinion. My Rate 4/5
