I think Asheidr is the mother of Davros and Clara is their daughter.
    Really enjoyed this episode

Asheidr is not Davros’s mother. His mother is revealed in Big Finish’s 4 part audio drama called ‘I,Davros’ as a woman called Lady Calcula.

Clara is not Davros’s daughter. Assuming you have seen series 7’s ‘The Ring’s of Akerten’ [or however you spell the blooming thing], Clara’s parents are human, and sadly, Clara’s mum died 10 years ago in the series continuity, leaving only herself and her dad.

Big Finish is NOT direct series canon and Ashedir is from Earth and not Davros’s Skaro.

Now that the fuss over Clara’s death has subsided (honestly, let it go now). I’d be more concerned with the blurb in Radio Times (other TV listing magazines are available.) which says that Mr Moffat “dares to tamper with Doctor Who lore” in Heaven Sent; personally I’m dreading exactly what it is far more then facing the raven, lol.

Now that I’m don’t feel depressed now (until I get reminded of Clara’s death in the next episode) I can do proper short review of this episode

This episode was interesting and sad. The alien town was really good but I would of liked to have seen more aliens which isn’t a bad thing because it shows I was interested. The characters were good the doctor’s new costume looks awesome,

Sorry accidently pressed enter hate it when that happens. Anyway the other characters were interesting as well. Rigsby was alright he wasn’t the most interesting character but at least he wasn’t boring, Ashildr is a good character I thought she was annoying at first but she didn’t really mean Clara to get killed so I guess she not annoying really.

Now to the most important bit to the episode Clara’s death. I agree with a lot of people saying that Clara needed to leave the show by dying because she has left so many times already. Some say the death should been more violent but this doctor who there is a limit to how violent it can get and if it was more violent would of it really made a difference? I thought Clara was a really good companion and I hope the next companion is a good one.

In conclusion I thought this episode was really good and a good way to for a companion to leave. I think this one will be remembered as “the one were Clara dies” or “the one with the alien village”

And happy 52th birthday doctor who

I feel a lot of Doctor Who fan’s are overrating to Clara’s death by saying it was very scary.

It was NOT scary in the slightest. If I was 4 years old again, I think my 4 year old self would have shed a few tears for Clara, not run away in fear because of smoke coming out of Clara’s mouth.

You want scary death scenes, then I recommend you watch something like Jaws, Piranha, Dante’s Peak, Alien VS Predator, Tremors, Species, The Thing or even Halloween starring Jamie Lee Curtis, those films will scare you. Clara’s death is nothing compared to the death’s in those aforementioned films.

Today off course in the Doctor’s universe would have been Clara’s 29th birthday. She died too young 🙁

Yet another poorly-executed, budget-restrained episode by another B-list scriptwriter who simply doesn’t ‘geddit’. Cybermen needing sanctuary? Don’t think so. By it’s premise, sanctuary infers you are afraid/ scared of something persuing you – which requires Emotions!! And the silver giants are emotionless cybernetic warriors. Just felt like they were put in the street to ‘look good’ and add NOTHING to the meagre plot. ( why not add an Ood, or a couple of judoon? Oh, hang on – they did! ) Smacks of deliberately trying to divert our attention from the inconsistencies ( that were many ) and the desperation in this series. Clara just standing there like a cardboard- cutout waiting for death? The doctor similarly ‘ standing there ‘ whilst she was smacked in the guts by a black budgie? ( Errr, sorry… Raven ) Born to save the doctor? Errrr… Nope! No continuity and feels like stuff is just being ‘ bunged in ‘ for the sake of it / ratings / etc. Just hope the BBC decide to revamp the series again before it’s too late…and stop the decline in standards. Even the actors looked as though they were thinking ” Ummm…Really?!?? ” and bored senseless. All in all a complete hash and Clara deserved SOooooooo much better. Never mind….at least Mr Capaldi is going to treat us to just SIX episodes next year whilst he goes and does other stuff. Need I say more….???????????

Clara needed to die…I thought they handled it rather well. And this has been one of my favorite seasons so far. Clara already did what she was born to do at the end of series seven, so yeah, she was born to save the Doctor. On another note, “Now I’ll never know if I was right.”- Adric.

It was definitely an intriguing episode. It had an interesting story, a gripping premise, and some fascinating plot twists. The concept of an alien village hidden in London was a fascinating one, and I really wish we could have seen more of the different aliens living there in their true forms. I could only count an Ood, a Cyberman, and a Silurian with its mask on. The Shade was a really interesting villain, and I wish we’d seen more of it. Same of Rigsy’s family. We don’t get much of a story, there. It just happens. I think that’s the problem with this episode. It has so many wonderful, interesting ideas, and it either doesn’t expand upon them enough, or it just doesn’t explain them. For example, I’m sure we all noticed the Ood and the Cyberman living in the street. We’ve only ever seen humanity having contact with the Ood centuries into the future. How’d one find its way to Earth in the 21st Century? And hello? Cyberman? Emotionless upgrading and/or killing machine? How can it be there without building an army? Cybermen only cooperate with other races out of necessity, as in The Pandorica Opens or The Five Doctors. We get a bit of an explanation as they all fear the Shade, but Cybermen don’t feel fear. It doesn’t make a lot of sense. Oh well.
If there’s one art of the episode executed perfectly, it’s Clara’s death. I’m having a little trouble buying it, given Moffat’s track record with fake-outs, but it is fitting to see her own reckless, cocky nature backfire on her in the worst way possible, and it’s admirable that she just accepts responsibility. The Doctor’s reaction was excellent, unleashing his anger on Ashildr and threatening her and her street, until Clara stops him by pointing out the flaws in his plan, and tells him that it was her fault. Brilliant stuff, there.
I’m interested to see what the finale brings us, as the Doctor is on his own in a place designed to terrify him… If executed well, I foresee some great, horrifying imagery, and a really tense episode.

quite unhappy with the face of the raven because the Doctor and Clara literally stood next to a machine to keep someone alive.
He could have tried to put her there to keep her alive ( basically what the 11th doctor did to save amy-putting her in a machine that keeps the host alive)
Or He could have given Clara the same thing he gave to Ashildr. That would make Clara immortal and the Doctor can leave her coz she is not suitable companion anymore.
Just felt like He didnt try hard enough to save Clara

One of those arguments is moot because Ashilr used the other medical kit on a fellow robber back in the 19th Century.

Ah, no Ashildr said you can’t give a merciful death to a Cyberman (who may have killed someone this is hypothetical). The guy wasn’t a cyberman himself she was giving an example of the sorts of people on the street that may have to face the raven.

May not have been his Ood, may just have been doing his job. As for why the Cyberman was there, maybe he’s a friendly Cyberman, like Kroton or Cyber-Brig.

Steven Moffat gets a hard time yet this string proves that people just don’t watch properly.

    • sheepinafez

      November 23rd, 2015 - 9:41am

Don’t watch properly? so the cybermen, emotionless beings who think that anyone not like them is wrong can now live peacefully among all other races, its not that people arnt watching properly its that this has never happened before, if anything we are watching “properly” for noticing it :P.

    • Dalek the Supreme

      November 23rd, 2015 - 11:53am

Hey, I’ve enjoyed Moffat in the past and now and then in the present, and I’ve defended him to death, but even I’ve got to admit that he got it wrong, there. A Cyberman is there with a poor explanation. Obviously it’s not a big part of the episode, so it’s more of a nitpick than anything, but it’s still a problem.

    • sheepinafez

      November 23rd, 2015 - 2:54pm

I agree, although i guess it shows some developent in the cybermen, they are much more robotic now, like Handles. its kind of interesting that cybermen can be seen as individuals now.
