It was a playful tease in the scene at the end in the Tardis, with all the reports of Jenna Coleman leaving the show, to make it look like Perkins was going to be the new companion and that Clara was calling it quits right then and there. Glad she isn’t gone yet.

I was hoping she was going to leave, really disappointed at the end when she did not quit

Sory all, This story had no rhyme or reason. The mummy itself could have been any monster and this episode again was not up to par.

When you have really terrible episodes then comes along a bad one, everyone says it is great. it is not. Just look at any tennant, or Eccleston episodes and this becomes instantly apparent.

You see a great Sci fi series now in its own tumbling fall.

It needs a complete overhaul to survive from being cancelled.

Did anyone else notice this>>>>>>>> Just after the doctor shouts surrender to the mummy and he stops he then salutes the doctor. If it was a 5000 year old egyptian mummy, then why did it give the doc a ( fairly ) modern day salute. Surely egyptian soldiers did not salute as we do today??? Its just something I noticed when I rewatched on I-Player.

Also one last thing since i ran out of room to write this in: Is anyone else highly suspecting Gus and the whole set-up of the train to be something connected to Missy. It would make sense considering that Gus said they would try to reverse-engineer the mummy. Therefore, since the mummy was killing people, anyone else think that if it is connected to Missy it would cure people of their illnesses if it was re-engineered? Please respond and give your thoughts.

In my opinion this was a really enjoyable episode for me at least, because of the way the mummy, characters, and especially The Doctor and Clara were handled. Most of their chemistry together was pretty smooth-running and many of the supporting cast, including Perkins played by Frank Skinner, were very good to watch. The mummy was also handled splendidly and i did not expect it to be an ancient soldier locked in an ancient war of killing,as it was revealed to be.Even though some things,in particular how the fight between The Doctor and Clara previously was smoothed over quickly, weren’t fantastic this ep was overall a fun thrilling ride and i’m interested to see how Saturday’s Flatline pans out.A shame to know we only have about 4 more eps left but lets hope they are great!

Let think of the future Doctor. I think he deserves to be a kid, wearing funky clothes. I would like to go with a black and white sort of style. Wearing black and white checkered pants, black and white striped coat and black and white polka dot shirt, the Doctor is unstoppable.

If he is a kid, he should start of putting his soul in the fob watch, becoming an ordinary kid going to school.

“Mummy On The Orient Express” is now my favourite episode of Series 8 so far!! It had some great music in the episode, a great monster, a great cast and that final scene was perhaps my most favourite scene in Who History! The Episode also felt like a Sci Fi Version Of Columbo! Overall, I rate “Mummy On The Orient Express” a 10/10!

The first episode of this season that was partway decent. Unfortunately, Moffat seems to be running out of ideas – we have already had the Titanic in space, now the Orient Express in space?

You do know Moffat didn’t come up and wrote this story? Also I don’t think Moffat is running out of ideas at all because we have this fantastic story arc of Heaven and the mysterious Missy who claims the Doctor is her boyfriend

Moffat needs to bring the black guardian back and the white guardian, they have so much potential now with gallifrey out there, maybe even the whispermen need to return maybe they’re related to the trickster somehow, the whispermen have so much potential

It was alright. The monster was scary, the buildup was good, and I found myself in fear through a lot of this episode. I didn’t like how rushed the ending was. I’d prefer to SEE the Doctor save the people rather than have him just casually mention it. The reveal of the Foretold being a soldier, I believe was handled well, though I think it’s origin could have been handled much better. Gus looks like he’ll be part of the story arc of this season, or he’ll appear in a future episode. It didn’t do a very good job of connecting with the “Egyptian goddess loose on the Orient Express in space” line from The Big Bang, since the Foretold wasn’t a god or goddess at all. I’d give it a 7/10. It wasn’t bad, but I was expecting much better.

Did anyone notice that when the Doctor calls Clara, her phone displays a cricket holding a top hat? So she’s saved a picture of Jiminy Cricket as his profile pic in her phone. What do you think that means?

This was an excellent story, hope series continues to increase this kind of quality and Capaldi for me is 2nd only to Tom Baker. Hope he gets to go head to head with the Cybermen sometime soon. The last Cyberman encounter with Matt Smith was quite the worst thing I have had the misfortune to watch Who wise and still induces chronic cringing even now.

Need to watch this one again as I missed some of it – fell asleep I’m afraid, due to ex and kids moving out so it was quite a big and stressful day, so very tired and drifted on occasion.
What I did see looked quite good and boy did Clara look HOT! Capaldi was excellent in this one, just wish he had more screen time, but I really do like Clara.
