It felt a little more like a Moriarty reveal to me, but that’s probably due to the whole spy theme, nice episode though. Just hoping they go off-world a bit more this season & include the TARDIS more, last season it felt like a whole character was missing (that could just be me though, sometimes my view is a bit askew)…

Awesome episode – great way to launch a new season after a much too extended break! Doctor vs Master – made me think a lot about my Doctor #3 and his battles with his best friend / villain! Can’t wait until episode 2. Welcome back Doctor!

That episode was better than the whole of series 11! Did not expect that ending!

The Master could have also said ;”ITS GREAT TO BE A MAN AGAIN!”

Sadly had the reveal spoilt thanks to my recommendations on YouTube, (so annoying that someone would put a massive spoiler in the title!) but nonetheless quite an intriguing episode. I’ll definitely have to rewatch with my family or friends, so I can see if the reveal was obvious to an unknowing viewer. Also “Everything that you think you know is a lie” I wonder what that means! Overall it’s certainly left me excited for part 2!

Will certainly miss Gomez in the role, though like Delgado and 3 Gomez and 12’s relationship couldn’t be replicated. Watching Dracula after, written by Moffat made me wonder if the actor there had been considered to play the Master, however this current Master looks great in the role, the penny dropped for me a few seconds before and made me think the unpredictability of that reveal was one of the things missing from the last series. I still find the TARDIS team missing something like last series, I don’t quite know what’s missing I was thinking perhaps its the dialogue which mostly consists of them discussing the plot with each other, though I liked Yas far more here, Chibnall should look no further than RTD’s dialogue in the early series which always seemed realistic.

Thought it was alright, some iffy acting here and there but tbh I don’t really agree with the casting, he seemed more like a fan film actor trying to be the master and felt more like the joker. Maybe he’ll grow on me, he just doesn’t seem to fit amongst the new who line up, Derek Jacobi, John Simm, Michelle Gomez and now this guy. Seems like an odd one out as the ones before had a commanding presence that reeled you in and intrigued you before the big reveal whereas this feels very “we need a cliffhanger let’s say he’s the master yay they’ll love it”

I really didn’t want to be negative because I felt the episode was actually good and quite creepy but then when the big reveal happened I just rolled my eyes. Maybe I’m falling out of love with the show.

Brilliant gripping episode and great to see an appearance of a certain villain big reveal done in true who style ! The sun reported back in the summer that this character was returning with a new actor in the role ! Fantastic was very entertaining! Jodie was excellent as the doctor

Had absolutely no idea at all, brilliantly done, best episode in years. Definitely a step up from last year and with a far better script Jodie looks far more convincing as the Doctor.

Apart from me laughing at the motorcycles/car chase ( the close ups of the actors “racing”). The innards of the TARDIS hanging down outside its shell (confusing). it had plenty of moments of watch-ability. The flying barn outside the airplane was completely bonkers and the reference to The Wizard of Oz seemed a silly add on. Until I slowly got it properly : “Ding, ding the witch Isn’t dead” . It opens up a new debate as to where this Master is in line, in the middle between Simm and Gomez ? or somehow a new one in line. The Master always returned from the points assured death. Overall entertaining .

As someone who was really disappointed with last season, I think Chibnall really pulled it out the bag and for me redeemed himself. The episode for me was really enjoyable, I’m curious as to how the masters story will play out.

Very good episode – my little brother speculated that O might be (that character), and I immediately thought, “not a chance.” Rather glad I didn’t actually say that haha.

    My reaction to…the news…

That moment where “O” starts jumping up and down and clapping his hands.

Literally stellar casting, I’m SO excited to see hos tenure! Let’s go Sadha Dhawan!!

They’ve certainly stepped it up from series 11. I thought that was better than the entirety of it!

There were a few moments in the middle that dragged a little, but it was made up for by the best shock reveal I’ve seen in Doctor Who for ages. The end was absolutely gripping!

    8.45 out of 10.

I’ve said it before I love the fact that chibnall won’t reveal anything. How much more exciting is it to find out who “o” really was when watching the episode rather than have it splashed all over the internet and newspapers beforehand?

That’s more like it! Plenty of drama, action and surprises. Series 12 has started with a better episode than any episode from series 11! Jodie Whitaker is fitting into the role better than ever too.

Bit disappointed that the credits list Sacha Dhawan as “O” and not his character’s actual name, I even said to my mate that I had a feeling he might be who he said he was (Won’t mention it in this comment, just in case there are some people who haven’t had a chance to watch it yet). But I also said I’m probably wrong. Just from this episode, it’s a major improvement from both Series 11 and “Resolution”

Honestly, it just shows how much more shocking and gripping something is when it isn’t spoilt and published everywhere.
I literally sat bolt up right with my bag of doritos at that reveal and didnt move until the episode finished.
