What Did You Think of The Angels Take Manhattan?

The final episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

The Doctor’s heart-breaking farewell to Amy and Rory – a race against time through the streets of Manhattan, as New York’s statues come to life around them…

With Rory’s life in danger, the Doctor and Amy must locate him before it’s too late! Luckily, an old friend helps them and guides the way.

A good episode but typically it carried an unnecessaty side plot – what was th epoint of the collector??
Anyway a fitting end to the Ponds time on DW (albeit a year late) but nowhere near to the emotional effect of Doomsday. 8/10

Brilliant episode but how did the statue of liberty manage to walk across the water to get to other side of the bridge, stomp through new York all the way to winter quay and not be seen by anybody!!!! I thought that bit would have been explained. Also the statue of liberty is made of copper and not stone because it was originally bronze it turned green because of the air pollution, any way that’s the complaining and history over and done with. Loved this episode, will defp be watching it again. I have never got emotional over a Doctor Who episode before except for the end of the girl who waited. 10 out of 10!! Oh also where did the cracked, weathered smiling angels off the doctor who website gallery come into the episode

wow – tears! I haven’t shed them whilst watching Doctor Who since Sarah left in ‘Hand of Fear’ – those pesky weeping angels! And how many people thought – oh, they didn’t go ahead with it, and then jumped a mile when Rory was ‘got’ by the graveyard angel. A good ending to a very good story and just love how it brought us full circle.

Agreed, they spent a few episodes building up Brian’s character and him giving his blessing for them to travel with the Doctor, so it would have been nice to the the Doctor break the news to him, or he’ll never know what happened.

Fantastic. the best episode. one thing though, i didnt like the way rory just vanished, i think it would’ve been nice to have a last word from him. but otherwise, fantastic. i was on the verge of crying, it was action packed, river was great, it had a proper beginning middle and end, and it had the object of surprise.

I did feel a bit like Rory was brushed to one side so that the focus was on Amy. Maybe they could have had a brief scene of Amy and arriving to reunite with Rory in 1938.

It felt rushed – especially the ending. Is anyone going to tell Rory’s dad what happened to his son? The music was intrusive and far to loud in places. Why did the rogue angel not get The Doctor and River also??? Should have been a two parter. New York looked great. Is The Doctor a god or not? He seems to be when the script requires so and when not he is just powerless to help his friends. Mixed messages and way to ‘trying to be clever’ for its own good.
