Doctor Stu it could have affected pre production though. Script read throughs and stuff like that. Because all that happened at that time of year because they started filming in December as far as I remember.
Plus his I’m a Celebrity contract would likely include all the follow up interviews, appearances and publicity.
It was just a thought I had. Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking.

I would be over the moon if they had captain jack in a few episodes of season 12
To connect with the newest incarnation of the Dr ! Or anyone from the past twelve years . It would help bridge the gap between the who fan base and casual viewers alike.
We can only hope that a year off our screens the writing and head writer think it through and produce more than a mediocre season like series 11 .
And also give us a few old enemy’s for the Dr to battle just to show the viewer’s the Dr has still got what it takes !

But I’m a celebrity is only a month long from getting the stars into Australia to the end of the series so 3 months seems a bit extreme

I reckon Captain Jack will be a part of series 12. I just remember that at the sa me time it was first reported that series 12 would have a 3 month delay, “due to unforseen circumstances”, that John Barrowman was going in into I’m a Celebrity.

Worst series finale from the entire new series since 2005. Chibnall can not only not write a 10/10 story, a Christmas special, but also can’t write a stunning season finale. I struggle to grasp which demographic he is making this series for? It’s certainly not children, as there are not enough monsters…of number or quality. It’s not for the core fanbase which were going to be split anyway with a female Doctor, let alone making the series a pc agenda driven one as well. I think the only demographic Chibnall was aiming this series at was his BBC superiors. I’m sure they are pleased with the overly talky preachy nature of the series, and the lack of pure enjoyable escapist action adventure.

The actors do an excellent job with what they have to work with, however the script writing is aimed more for the two-year-old, and is one-dimensional. So for everybody over the age of 2, it is boring, the doctor having to explain every single bit with tons of dialogue is simply like suffering a brain hemorrhage. Comments around the world are pretty much saying the same.

The writing has to be better, less dialogue more acting, make it three-dimensional or at least as big as the TARDIS, keep people wondering and guessing with good twists and turns, make it good sci-fi, not a brain dead dialogue which is better suited to radio than it is to TV. Come on BBC you can do much better than this.

Awful. The blah blah blah dialogue drives me insane. Everything the doctor says is just explaining everything like a running commentary. So poor. Most time I have no idea what on earth she is saying. It’s just a mush of words from beginning to end. Why does Chibnall feel the need to fill every second with words. No scenes ever just play out visually. He has no concept of film making. He should work in radio only. Dull . Awful story. Awful Doctor. Terrible season. I tried I really did. They need to go. All of them. ( enjoyed the score tho)

I fan since the the mid 70’s, and this series has been a bit meh, so far for me. But this season finale, was ruddy good, very enjoyable.

And the trailer for the new years day special looks amazing. Gutted that the series won’t return until 2020.

The first episode was mediocre and so was the last. It’s the word that sums up Mr Chibnall as well.

Not a bad episode, but it really didn’t feel like a series finale. It would have benefited from an extra ten minutes or so – the bit with the Earth being under attack, and the resolution felt really rushed, and the episode ended like every other this series.

But there were some really cool moments and scenes, it’s just a shame the Tzim Sha reveal was completely predictable.

This series of who is without doubt the worst you’ve got a weak doctor who totally relies on the sonic screwdriver for answers cramped tardis sets and boring stories

    3.The Witchfinders
    4. The Woman Who Fell to Earth
    5. Demons of the Punjab

Thought the finale was decent although it felt like the finale to a one season show now one with a 55 year history, also saw the Tim Shaw return coming a mile of.

Over the past few months i’ve also been rewatching some of new who’s finest…Dalek,Blink,Midnight,Amy’s choice and Heaven sent. All glorious pieces of story telling and characterisation.
And then there’s this season….that final episode really summed it all up…bland, boring, uneventful and forgettable. Not one episode or performance stood out.

And Ms Whittaker’s interpretation has been truly awful. She’s so miscast, but then again maybe she’s the rani in disguise? As the real Doctor would never let anyone continuously refer to him/her as Doc!!

Saying I have been a life long fan since the Pertwee era and have supported Dr who throughout its ups and downs! This is the first time I have watched Dr who and was starting to get fed up with some of the story lines! And I thought the finale was slow and lackluster in pace. Take away the TARDIS and sonic screwdriver and you have a completely different show.Lets hope the scrips improve after a year off ! I feel the magic of the show is missing somehow.

Well, to be honest what a really interesting season of Doctor Who it has been. There are only really 2 episodes that I didn’t like (Punjab and frog on a chair). The special looks interesting too. Well done Chris Chibnall.
