What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

There’s something very odd about Mrs Gillyflower’s Sweetville mill, with its perfectly clean streets and beautiful people.

There’s something even stranger about the bodies washing up in the river, all bright red and waxy. When the Doctor and Clara go missing, it’s up to Vastra, Jenny and Strax to rescue them before they too fall victim to the Crimson Horror!”

Now that the 6th episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

Fab eppisode, Vastra, Jenny & Strax are sooooo much better than Rory & Amy, would love to see more of them.

Vastra and Jenny are ok (the lesbian thing is a bit wierd but i can go with it) Strax though is one of the worst characters ever in doctor who history.

If you think their great you crearly havnt seen Elizabeth Sladens and Katy Mannings performace. Sarah Jane and Jo are the best comanions so far!

A town called Pontefract was mentioned in The Crimson Horror and i live right next door to it, if only they actually filmed there 🙂

Best episode of the series so far. Well done Mark Gatiss. Mrs Gillyflower and Ava were brilliant characters.
Agree with what others are saying, The Paternoster Gang really deserve there own spin off series.

It was funny, but aside from Mrs. Gillyflower and Ada, who were great, the supporting cast did nothing for me. Also, the idea of the Doctor and Clara being already captured kind of spoiled the hope for an episode revolving around Strax, Jenny, and Vastra. The ending was absolutely hilarious, definately the best part! 6/10

Very much enjoyed the episode. Would have been nice if the TV announcer acknowledged that this is the 100th episode of the new series since 2005 for viewers who where probably unaware of it apart from us fan’s.

Can’t believe Strax killed Misses Peel from the Avengers, damn that psychotic Potato Dwarf !! 🙁

Shocking ending thou seeing those 2 kids discovering pictures of Clara in 1973, 1983 . . . . and the Victorian Clara !! 😀

Me and my brother loved this episode, everything in it was great! However the only thing that spoilt it was the preview of next weeks episode, we don’t like the addition of these new annoying children. I just think they’re trying to make Doctor Who appeal to all the ages by bringing in younger (unnecessary) characters. (fingers crossed they get deleted…)

If you are referring to the parallel Earth cybermen’s catchphrase ‘delete’ i doubt they will be deleted. Considering next weeks episode re-introduces the mondasian cybermen, but redesigned. They never had any of this ‘delete’ rubbish. It was ‘You will be destroyed!’ or they just simply killed without saying anything.

The parallel earth cybermen were in the trailer.

      May 5th, 2013 - 8:04am

I think they are on-board so they have a reason to go to the fairground next episode, not to be full time companions or to appeal to children, how does no one see that? Obviously something will happen to them before the name of the doctor, or if not the doctor takes them back because it’s “too dangerous”. Plus the Doctor has his “no kids on the tardis” rule, so that will be interesting!

    • Team TARDIS

      May 6th, 2013 - 11:02am

Oh yeah I guess that’s true, and fair enough to the Cybermen comment. We were just very frustrated as we felt it kind of killed our buzz after watching ‘The Crimson Horror’ and we’d been so looking forward to the Cybermens’ return but were afraid the attention might be taken away from the Cybermen!

Liked this episode a great deal, helped by some fabulous acting from all the cast. Did anyone else’s heart sink a bit when next weeks episode has annoying children travelling in the Tardis. Maybe they will be ‘deleted’ early on. I can hope 😉

There’s a reason for the Children, SFX have released some teasers for next episode and it says “A big secret is hiding in plain sight. One of the kids works it out. Can you?”

Guys, guys, guys !!!!!!! be grateful those 2 kids are not like that annoying Kelsy [or whatever her name was], the chave from the pilot episode of ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’ who sald rubbish like “You are well shaming me” as if she thought she was seriously cool and important.

No! Heh! Heh! Just kidding! It was brilliant. The Paternoster Gang were great too. Jenny is hot. Fantastic episode, as seems to be the norm this series.

Your Insane they are terrible characters! The worst in all of doctor who history along side:

Rose Tyler, Amy Pond,Rory Williams & Adric!

If you think these for are great fans, you clearly havnt seen the classic series and and you really havnt seen truly great companions!

YES! YES GATISS YOU DID IT! Best of series 7 part 2, with in depth characters and well thought out story to make you squirm. i didn’t miss the doctor and the way the vastra, strax and jenny’s character’s developed was great. mrs gillyflower was a strong and fantastic villain, filled with pure evil. i wasn’t expect that to be the doctor, it was a great shock! ada was the soft touch in the story, to make the viewer feel a mix of sympathy for her, and hatred for gillyflower. well done! it was amazing!

    Also, happy birthday dale eternal!

I agree! It would be amazing! Strax is the clumsy one, Vastra is the quite-serious one, Jenny is the feisty one.. they should definitely make a spin-off! It should be called The Paternoster Row Gang or something, it would be brilliant! But I hope it won’t be horror like Torchwood.
