What Did You Think of The Day of the Doctor?

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.

In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

Absolutely loved it but I thought the time war was time locked that’s why Dalek Caan went mad. Also how did Clara get out of the time stream from the end of series 7? Christmas preview was just…..oh my god….just no…. My mind was blown….

The Moment let the Time Lock slip so the War Doctor could see 10 and 11. The Doctor jumped in and pulled Clara out, it was shown back in The Name of the Doctor.

Loved it. 3d was very good too. Being able to actually see that the paintings were bigger on the inside was fantastic.

Tom Baker said her wasn’t taking part (you little liar! lol) nice to see an aged 4th even if for a cameo.

So a dalek falls through time and space burning and falls to earth only slightly damaged in 2005 but NOW a dalek gets bumped by a tardis or pushed over by a sonic screwdriver they fall apart and die!!!? That’s one thing that really annoyed me during that! And there has still been no development on the NEW DALEKS!!!!!! If they don’t appear on the christmas special cos clearly there are daleks in it but they were time war daleks in the advert, I might just give up on the daleks I say just leave the time war daleks now let the 50th be there last episode and just let the new better awesome daleks take over, if not, cybermen are becoming my new favorite they could Probaly take a knock from a tardis or a push from a sonic screwdriver!!!………over than that it was ok

Unfortunately, so many fans refused to give the new Daleks a chance that they were made an officer class. Guess it just goes to show the irony in the fact that SOME (Not all!) fans of a show all about change can’t accept it.

      November 23rd, 2013 - 11:12pm

Yer I guess :/ cos if I had it my way and they only had the new daleks many fans would be complaing like I am only they would say bring back the time war daleks, but I suppose there’s still lots of time for the new daleks to make a good development 🙂 but dosnt it annoy you abit how a knock from a tardis or a push from a sonic breaks them into pieces?

Brilliant. Nice job on saving Gallifrey and destroying the Daleks…
Or did they? Well, the Emperor was above Gallifrey when Arcadia fell, and we all know he escaped to make an army of Daleks from Humans…

You cant serious like the new plastic looking Daleks , they are meant to be scary and military , hence as in the golden time war ones, . The new ones look like plastic toys and most people hated them

Doesn’t the fact that Gallifrey survived make The End of Time, and the fact that there was a No More painting, not possible? Because Gallifrey never became ‘war-torn’?

If you recall, the Timelords didn’t know that the doctor wasn’t going to destroy them. So they could’ve taken preemptive measures to ensure their survival. Then when they were pushed back, Gallifrey just vanished like it did in the episode.

      November 23rd, 2013 - 10:01pm

But I don’t understand the order of events? Did the End of Time happen before this? And when was the No More painting taken?

well the day has finally happened! Steven moffat has gave new life into doctor who like never before with tom baker even though he didn’t play the doctor in this scene. that outstanding and emotional scene at the end with all the doctors. only one thing though can someone tell me is gallifrey back now?

I don’t think Gallifrey is back as such but it is somewhere now the Doctor has to find it which will probably be a long but interesting story arc for the 13th Doctor (Peter Capaldi I mean because I guess that’s what we have to call him now)

      November 23rd, 2013 - 10:22pm

I’m colossally confused. I’ve seen every Dr. Who episode possible to see, and this special just ripped holes in the reality of Doctor Who. I won’t say it was bad, if you don’t know a lot about the series I guess it would seem pretty awesome, but it just didn’t make sense. It more of less destroys past story line, making it irreverent, or even worse, non-existent. Lets just hope the Christmas Special redeems it.

Don’t worry Doctor Who, I will still follow you through all time and space, I’m just a little perplexed.
